I absolutely love the way SCers would structure deals to get them done.

They make it seem like it's no more difficult than swapping panini stickers.

I really don’t think Toby is on the decline to quite the extent that some are saying here. Yes he’s had better days but i still see him as our best defender

I think our main 3 CB are all at the same level(which isn’t great) so it make sense to get one of them off the books Toby being the eldest one is probably the most logical sale.

I now have an image of Jose standing with Steve Hitchens going through players going “got, got, need, got”

All I will say on the matter is that a top rated CB took Liverpool from almost there to utter dominance.

worth the investment as the squad is very nearly there now

How anybody can be disappointed with signing one of the top 5-10 CBs who is still only 25 and who's traits exemplify that of Jose's wants...

Please give your head a real good wobble. It needs it.

Agreed, but he was a special case really, there aren’t many like him around. Pace, power, leadership, good with the ball, very rare to get all those qualities in one guy. He’d have made any team in the world better. As much as I like the look of Skríniar and Dias, they’re not the level of VvD. Not saying they won’t improve us, but VvD was/is probably the best CB in the world.

Toby has recently signed a very good new deal, don't see why he'd be interested in moving tbh.

Yeah, in All or Nothing he talks about how his family is happy here, his girls like their school etc etc. Was a factor in him signing a new deal I believe.

The whole "Skriniar is slow" theory is hilarious.

Classic baseless internet rumour. One person on here said it, like they were all informed about it, (having probably never seen him play) and then it snowballed. He's not slow. Let's put that to bed once and for all.

I personally don't see Toby going the other way but equally I'm not sure we would want to pair Toby and Skriniar together. Sanchez feels like the one we need to be starting alongside either of them. I feel like Skriniar and Toby would have to rotate with each other. Or maybe we do let Toby go and we plan to work it like this:

1st Choice: Skriniar & Sanchez
2nd Choice: Dier & Tanganga

Skriniar and Dier are both quite aggressive CB's and have similar playing styles.
Sanchez and Tanganga are both very quick, strong and athletic. They would be complimentary pairs IMO.

All the Italian media outlets are going to have a field day with this story (and Milik) now - would advise that people apply a lot of salt.

I’m surprised we are going to drop the amounts quoted on him and suspect the fee will be less. But really, don’t worry where the money is coming from. It will all be fine.
