He was injured with Wales.
No doubt. But there's nothing to say that the injury hadn't been exaggerated by his camp to make sure he didn't have to play (or realistically sit on their bench) for Madrid until the end of the window.

That's my take on it.

Just watched this - even if he hasn't got that explosive pace and power anymore, he is still absolutely lethal infront of goal, also completely forgot how good he is in the air! :playful:

I think Bale's more recent goals start around the 9 minute mark

what do the aubergines mean? I keep seeing them..
''The eggplant emoji is also called the aubergine emoji in the UK and Japan. While it can literally refer to the food item (eggplant parmesan, perhaps?), it’s most often used online to represent a penis. This is in large part due to other emoji representations of long foods associated with penises (like the banana or cucumber) looking less like … well … penises.

When next to the sweat droplets emoji, it means ejaculation. The eggplant emoji has become so associated with the penis that people even use the word eggplant as a stand in, or euphemism for, the word penis. ''

He did say in an interview that his stamina isn't what it was but his pace is still there. So he'd have to pick his runs but when he does... ?

Translated as there was no injury he just didn't want to be involved with Madrid and who can blame him.

Reading the statement on the official page, I’m not sure they really said he was injured. Rather that because of the injury, he hadn’t had any pre-season, and thus was not match fit.

Not sure i buy that Surely if you're in the middle of negotiating a transfer the last thing you'd want to do is pretend to be injured. If anything you'd try and hide any niggles so that the buying team don't get cold feet.

No idea mate, I'm presuming our negotiations with Bale and Barnett are strictly confidential, they might have tipped us off during negotiations that it wasn't as serious as the Spanish press were lead to believe.

Regardless of how Bale plays for us, this move could be invaluable for us as surely Kane will never want to go to Real.

Now just need the same for Barca...

Or we’ve given RM first dibs on Kane as part of the Bale deal.

I don’t know why (well I do but that’s another story) I can see Kane having his nose put out of joint with Bale coming back. Such delicate flowers these football types.

I can't see it at all. Top players want trophies, other top players being brought in to the club increases the chance of said trophies.

Oh don’t get me wrong. I’d love it to be Kane at spurs. But another Alpha male has just entered the building.

If Kane is the type of person who gets upset when the club invest in players in order for us to be successful on the pitch then I'd want him to leave. Thankfully the notion that Kane would be upset by us signing top stars is farcical so that's not a problem.

Have a feeling Bale will be available for a few bench appearances before the break then come back from Wales and play the full 90. Everyone says “match fitness” which is perfectly understandable. He only trained with Wales and played 135 minutes a few weeks ago. Since then, Zidane fucked him off to train alone while the move was being worked out. Going to be awhile to get him up to match fitness for a full 90. We might do what we’re doing with Ndombele who returned to training a few days before Watford.
