Although this article is why Reguilon should join Utd, it's quite interesting nonetheless.

Cheers for posting that. I must say I know little about him other than watching a bit of the Sevilla EL games in the summer. So that’s a really good tweet by the Man U supporter. I just hope he can defend well because doing it in the PL is a different animal than doing it in Spain.

Regardless, I’m looking forward to seeing him play and improve our fullback areas. I suspect he will share games with Davies at the start while he beds in. A good option to have going forward that’s for sure.

I think we all have to wait and see here. We have no idea about the clauses that we have agreed to. Reports have varied a lot, and it would be really surprising if levy hasn’t given us all the protection possible

I for one applaud the fact that we’ve prioritised their short team over the long term for once, but still not at the total expense of the long term given the player’s age and the possibility that he doesn’t end up going back. Fact is, if he gets bought back, it means he’s succeeded with us, which can only mean we’ve got a better chance of success while he’s with us, and therefore a better chance of attracting a good replacement with the profit we’ve made on him if he does indeed leave (unless of course Sessegnon has proven himself on loan at the requisite level in that time).

are you disagreeing, out of interest? We have the better player, right?
Right now? I dont think its so certain like the post claimed. In my opinion Telles is the better crosser and 1v1 defender, while Reguilon is the more dynamic player. Potential for improvement makes Reguilon interesting, I just thought the post underrated Telles, because I think Telles would have similar impact to Digne if he came to the Prem.

Well, is anything he said wrong? We have seen a thousand times that players not necessarily hit the ground running in the PL, despite tearing it up in other leagues.

Yes tbf we've seen that ourselves plenty of times. Soldado didn't exactly look like he was going to flop as hard as he did, or Shevchenko.

I can't think of specific defenders, but haven't City spent about £300m on defenders from the La Liga and Liga NOS who've been a shambles.

Not relating any of this to Regulion specifically, just I can see why the argument could be made that good in one league doesn't necessarily mean good in another. The overall goalscoring record of strikers there would lean towards the fact that either the defending or the defensive tactics aren't as high a standard as the PL surely?
