Levy once again. Surprise surprise. He must be deluded if he doesn’t know how fans feel about what is going on. He should be busting his balls to push the Bale deal through - give us something positive.

Come on, guys. Even at 50%, £300k per week is insane for us - and that's before a loan fee is chucked on top. Dreams are free - just not this one...
Yep, agreed. But everybody has known Bale's wage for years. Levy knows the wage budget better than anyone. So either he's deemed that we can afford to accommodate Bale or we can't.

The fact that Levy was the one pushing for it suggests that he has decided we can afford the deal. Now we've got Real Madrid, Bale and his agent being willing to make the move happen, and Levy is suddenly less enthusiastic.

It's stupidity.

He is made of teflon he just doesn't care what anyone thinks of him or how he runs the club! In his eyes its his and Uncle Joe's club and they will run it how they want. Which sadly for us fans is always going to be in favour of balance sheet success rather than on field success.

That second update is genuinely more concerning than the Bale stuff.

I'll hold judgement until the window closes, I'll hold my hands up and say I thought the squad was decent enough to start the season but looks like I was wrong, once again we start a season flat. It doesn't look good but luckily we have 3 weeks to put things right.

Re Bale.

From someone super close....

Two parties making big strides. One making very small steps indeed.

He really is typecast as far as this one is concerned.

The frustration is building and it won't be long before RM and GB are looking seriously at alternative destinations.
I'm close to handing in my BSoDL membership card. Levy needs to stop fannying about for once.

As ever, thanks for the updates. If anything it just adds to the understanding of where this clubs real issue lies.

The definition of madness is to do the same things over and over and expecting a different outcome the next time. There have been a succession of managers who have been made promises but Levy will always operate within his business plan.

What a crap 48 hours this has been :banghead:

I suppose if there's one man who will call Levy out in the media if we don't get our targets it's Jose.

I don't get this fixation on Bale really. He is on huge huge salary and comes with baggage of extremely poor injury record. We have to focus on whats needed for team first. Get that striker in, sort out the midfield and get a LB in..thats what we need. If we sign Bale on top of this, I would take it as a bonus but wont be disappointed if we lose out on him (as long as we do the necessary business)

Why don’t we wait until the window actually closes before we start wheeling out the old cliches like “there used to be a football club over there”, “I’m ripping up my season ticket” “that tight bald git has done it again” etc.

Seriously. Save your energy.

By the time the window shuts on 5th October we could very easily be out of two competitions and effectively out of the running for another.

Aannnd its that time of the window again. ITK starts off very positive then suddenly goes a bit negative and then we all know how it turns out from there.

I've seen this movie before
