Then all of a sudden he's in the first team, and putting in great performances. He could easily have just disappeared as a noone, but he's in one of my top 3 CBs I've seen at the academy and my favourite to watch. I think he could go to the top.

Who are the other two CBS from our academy which make your top 3?

Ledley and BLF?

I asked this question previously but didn't get any response.

I think we can agree that the high press Poch implemented suited more energetic younger players and perhaps his failure not to keep the squad not only fresh but young and full of energy was his downfall.

With JM he obviously plays a deeper more strategic style where we are attacking at the right moment rather than all out press.

Do you think it is easier for JM to mould a younger player to play his way or get an older more experienced player to do what he asks?

Just my opinion I think young players are very easily moulded. They have the least amount of experience so are less stubborn to new ideas or set in their ways.

Also they are taught tactics fairly young so it's just a case of implementing the instructions.

I was talking about players I've seen, so not King who is obviously the greatest.

Mine would be CCV and Veljkovic, though I admit I did prefer Veljkovic in DM. There have been some really good ones they have gone onto make decent careers but for me they've been the best.

I reckon Binks might've been heading in that direction too.

So what confuses me is why go for older players with shorter shelf life and more physically restricting age levels than a young guy that can run all day, do exactly what you ask and play aggressively .

Should try to get himself to Greece or Cyprus to establish himself on the national team, same with Georgiou. Sitting around here won't get them anywhere.

Shit timing then. Hope he's part of the squad for early cup games.

Developed late? Isn’t he just about 18?

Haven't read it as I'm not paying but on what basis are they calling him a late developer. As you say he's 18. Comparing him to Kane and Tanganga, from what I read publicly I'm assuming they mean, they think he wasn't very good and developed relatively late to all of his teammates. If that's what they are saying, then they're wrong for all 3 of them, as they have all pretty much been the best players or ones with highest potential since I became aware of them 12/13 for DC and JT, 17/18 for Kane.

I'd argue Winks was more of a late developer as I didn't think he was first team ready until at least his first year in u21s or that's when he became clearly the best in his year group
