Home grown 3rd choice keeper makes sense but thought Joe Hart would want to go somewhere to be first choice

Seems like most inferring this means Gaz would be off. Makes sense, he’s been decent enough here to deserve to be #1 somewhere, but if Lloris left I don’t think we’d be content to make him #1. Probably right for him to move on if he’s not content being a permanent #2 and it’s good for our homegrown numbers.

Dan Kilpatrick #thfc Per @mcgrathmike, understand Joe Hart is set to join Spurs on a free. Also told Oliver Skipp is heading to Norwich on loan for the season. @standardsport.

Gazza will be off. This is a move to increase home grown quota. Absolutely a good kove IMO.

He'll be a good character to have around too.

Be happy with this, although we should be scouting like crazy to identify Hugos next in line.

10 years ago I would have absolutely loved for us to sign Joe Hart.

Better late than never, I guess... ?

There’s no way he’ll come in as third choice, it would be an insult to his ability and his record:

- 2 Premier League titles
- 1 FA Cup
- 2 League Cups
- 4 Premier League golden gloves
- 75 England caps

Bringing him in as Hugo’s backup makes perfect sense. Good for our HG quota, brings a winning mentality to the dressing room, and I imagine he’s a bit of a ruthless bastard too.

Crucially, as much as I love the guy, he is a class above Gazzaniga, who I assume we’d be able to get £5-10m for.

IM SORRY GUYS CAN I NOT SLEEP FOR ONCE

anyway, sell Gazzaniga, open up a non-homegrown place and bring in some money.

Found this article last night while I was reading up on the rumours:

Killing it in the gym while not even having a team to fight for a place in, is exactly the kind of mentality which impresses Jose, I imagine.

Compare and contrast with some of our players...

He's fine as a backup, frees up a non-homegrown slot for the outfield.
No he isnt. Gazza’s much better than him. He’s a #3 keeper for us. Backup for a lower Prem side. He isnt that good a keeper anymore. And Hugo could always get hurt again. Gazzaniga has to be the #2. If he os sold, we need another #2.
