Not quite as good as Dybala last year but this window and the ITK around it are starting to look spicey. Thanks all.

Some good, positive itk today.
Have to say that I'm liking the way the window is looking so far. OK, I know we haven't signed anyone yet but things appear to be good, with Jose having positive targets (within budget) and the club being active in chasing them.
Possibly the most positive I've felt about a window for a while.

I'm with you on this.
There are certain deficiencies teams have that managers seem to ignore.
So when a new one comes in and deals with it straight away it gives you confidence.
A possible DM, second striker, and RB would give us a fantastic base to start from. Even if they aren't names that would be on my fantasy wish list just filling the roles will improve us.

And if we can add another effective creator/scorer on top that would be a bonus.

On top of the feeling I think most of us had that this window could be a shambles it could really reverse the negativity around the club last season.

TN. We would want our money back on him! Nobody even near! His entourage need to shut the fak up! I can’t see it happening due to what we rightfully would want for him.
Sounds like he wants to go. Shame.

Zaha would really suit a counter attacking team, Has the skillset where he doesn't need an Eriksen to unlock things for him.

Wouldn't surprise me at all that we'll try for Zaha with more optimism this window.

Yes no favours with his contract situation , but if we've any players we'd be willing to let go who they'd be interested in maybe there's options to be considered.

Also Kane, Son and Zaha on the counter...wow.

This was given to me today. We’ll see... probably a battle of what we’re willing to pay and what Zaha and crew willing to accept. However this time seems a little different.
Unless CP have dropped their price by 25+mil we won't be persuing.

If PEH and Wilson go for the quoted prices they will be more than covered by fringe players going.
Would probably take Palace dropping to 30 to 40 million but another player in means one going so might reduce the hit.

As much as I like Moura and Lamela they don't have the same threat as Zaha and he would be the final part in the attacking jigsaw.

I also suspect Levy may be willing to back his man to a certain extent if Jose really pushed for a key player.
they are both better than the palace diver

Stop! We are NOT looking for a back-up striker for Kane!!!
We are looking at bringing someone in who can play with him! Competition guaranteed for forwards to play with the ‘King’ (Kane). Keep eyes on Bournemouth. More than something could happen ;) One is very good! Other is very interesting. And that one depends on various scenarios outwards our end.

I like this optimism from everyone in here today! Long may it continue! Let’s just hope we can get al our targets early and we hit the ground running!

As we have seen in the past, ITK folks often receive information from different sources. So, while one might say something is happening, another might have heard the exact opposite. Therefore there is no disagreement, just variable insider info.
RE: Zaha... it's hard to have any sympathy for someone who signs a lucrative contract like he did, and then complains about not being allowed to go elsewhere. Them to breaks sometimes, and something he will have to live with, as there is no way Palace will ever let him go for less than 50M. Hence why many on here are reticent about this happening as the numbers just don't add up when we are in a period of austerity at the club. Unless of course this was approached as a loan deal, but that also seems like a stretch.
Guess we shall wait and see.
Regardless, it's rather refreshing to see the club actually bringing in players prior to the beginning of pre-season. The last four or five years have been pitiful in that respect. So, yes... it would seem that the common denominator is having Jose approaching our needs in a pragmatic and flexible way, which probably makes it slightly easier to get our targets in early.

Bournemouth has 2 players that would make a ton of sense (Wilson + Brooks) if we shift Lamela. Really hope that what Herc is alluding to.

Does feel like Palace are resigned to losing Zaha this window. There were even rumours of a loan deal to arsenal being floated last week. Maybe there could be something creative that pops up later in the window if no other team offers big money. I personally think he could do very well in a team where he isn't the only threat.

As for Trix's comments about Jose that is great to hear. A lot of people doubted he would do that after Man Utd especially but it is good to see. Seemed like he was quite happy with his targets overall at the end of the season when asked.

A front 3 of Zaha, Kane and Son would instantly rival City, Pool, Chelsea, etc

If we are serious about challenging, then Zaha is the type of signing we should be making. He would definitely take our attack to the next level.

Not if we don't have the players to pass them the ball. Zaha is overkill, IMO. Bergwijn is perfectly fine.
