I'll believe this new era of transfer bliss is upon us when I see them hold our shirt and it's all over our official social media accounts and it's not the last week of the transfer windows.

Surely it's time to drop the trousers (or shorts in this heat!) when igi posts? :)

Another 2 close. But! Please do not ask me to go further. Kim very very keen. It is down to the financials on this one. Other options being looked at. Agents busy also using us to link and draw interest in their players. The Algerian kid at Brentford is very true. Not a certainty, but option. Kim one of the two if we can agree structure. Personal terms agreed on this one.

Serge wants to move on. Media accurate on our options.

So its seems we are looking at
Hojbjerg (Seems pretty much done)
Kim
One or two of Celik, Castrange, and Aarons
Wilson

Seems decent business and rebalances the squad and a bit more strength in depth.

It seems the fact José is being so pragmatic in his targets means Levy has no choice but to agree to them. It’s one of the greatest managers ever telling you exactly what the squad needs and providing sensible, affordable options. Levy knows he’d be a mug if he didn’t sort out these signings.

Plus players like Hojbjerg and Wilson will likely never be cheaper, hence the early dealings. It’s very refreshing so far...

It’s as if Levy hired a manager who has one function and one function alone, and is trying to give him the tools to fulfil his remit...

It also goes a long way into squashing the BS that Jose can only work with expensive/finished article players.

I am certain he works with some of the best scouts and agents in the world, and price or stature won't mean everything to him especially knowing our financial situation long before taking the job. He knows what he can work with, and he has built his list of targets around that.

Amazing what a world class manager can do. Also, please don't take this as a bash against Poch, it has nothing to do with him.

This type of business reminds me a bit of when Harry was in charge. The squad already had a few hugely talented players (Bale, Modric, King, etc) but it was unbalanced and lacked steel.

Complementing the big talents with more functional players like Palacios, Crouch, Kranjcar, Parker and Defoe was what made that team a success.

I don't see Tanguy fulfilling his potential unless he rids himself of the entourage. It's going to be up to the player in the end to decide what he wants to be. Nobody can make him put in the effort.

We're a bit stuck with him now. Obviously as Herc says would want the money back, but all the while he's depreciating in value and getting paid a fortune.

Looking positive so far- let's see who we get before getting too excited.
If Serge leaves then he will go with my best wishes due to the way he stepped up in the final weeks of the season putting the team before himself.

Woke up, the sun was shining, birds chirping, and there were three @The Goat posts and four @Hercules posts. Looks like the start of a great day. Thanks for doing what you do. Bringing info and hope

He missed the M off the front, Jose’s been getting smashed with levy

If that’s what it takes for Levy to open the purse strings, then fine!

Encouraging words regarding the next few weeks. I’m a fan of Wilson in particular - a step down from Kane at his peak, but delivers good performances and hopefully the transition from Bournemouth to Spurs wouldn’t make him forget how to play. Considering we haven’t really been linked with a ton of strikers (Josh King is the only other one I can think of - which may have been confusion around Bournemouth strikers) it seems like he’s the club’s first choice, too.

I'd be happy for Aurier to be moved on. He has amazing fitness levels but he's a terrible defender and all his crosses always hit the first defender.
For all Aurier's faults, with KWP on his way to Saints we would be left woefully short at RB if Aurier left. I know Foyth and Tanganga can deputise there, or even try others like Sissoko, but it's a position that would desperately need to be filled with some experience. I hope we have a couple targets in mind.

I was about to comment on this myself. VDV and Adebayour are the only 'big name' signings that I can think of, but both filled a gap in the team / improved the squad balance, rather than being statement marquee signings.
