I just hope we start bringing in players who we will actually play!!!!
Ndombele, Gedson, Seesegnon, all a complete waste of their time and ours.

For what ever fucking reason.

5th, assuming we can get in the platform needed to free up our better forward players to do their thing. Who knows, even someone to let Kane have a rest. Looks like the top 4 are all buying players to beat up on the dross so they'll be racking up points aplenty which is going to make anything higher pretty tricky.

Definitely have more faith in Mourinho to guide us deeper into the Europa though, but that will also rinse the squad.
I agree. 5th is probably the best we can achieve. A few years ago we had some world class players along with players in the form of their lives that were the envy of other top clubs (Dembele, Eriksen, Toby, Verts, Dele, Walker etc. etc.) now we have Kane and perhaps Son & Lo Celso. And we're looking to replace players like Dembele & Eriksen and Walker/Rose with some fairly mediocre offerings. I'm sure we'll get more balanced but anything above fifth would be very optimistic.

So, we're more competitive than we were when ENIC took over

*pops a box of streamers and does cartwheels, tries to do a high five with self but other hand is on knob so............

Lovely. More competitive. That's OK then. Be satisfied with the shocking neglect if not rank incompetence that allowed us to regress and decline so spectacularly, it's fine, don't complain. We're a bit better than we used to be.

What the fuck are you doing complaining about willow and ENIC you absolute bunch of fucking ingrates :D

Sigh :wacky:

Not sure if I agree with the belief that top 2 is out of sight. Really need to see how teams start next year but start of the season anyone has a chance. Liverpool having won the league for first time in 30 years may lose their edge, add to that some players may move on if they get offers from the likes of Real.
City will strengthen on top of already world class first choice team and you'd expect Pep to integrate them seamlessly has he's done in the past, but by no means guaranteed to hit the ground running.
Chelsea will invest in young world class players but the pressure is then on fat Frankie to deliver silverware and do so immediately, not sure he's up to the task personally, while Ole will no doubt add quality players to his squad but does he have the ability to set them up?
Leicester, can't see them improving on this season, likewise Sheffield United.
Think Wolves and Everton could push, but again a slow start can have its toll on the entire season.

Agree with all of this. To finish in the top few teams we need to have one of the best teams and whilst I think there will be four or five squads with better players I remain unconvinced they will necessarily be better teams once this manager gets his teeth into our squad.

Inject a bit more urgency into our game.

Be a bit more mobile in runs for players to pick out. Let's see plenty of options and movement.

Defend better.

All coachable, and elements that I feel we have been sorely lacking in.

I’m not going to comment on result or recruitment. But I do expect us to play with authority again. I want our opponents to fear us.

My expectations are to be disappointed. That's about it really. I'll still watch every minute of Tottenham and love the club doing it.

Based on the current players I expect will finish top 6 and a another Cup finalist. What I would like though is for us to finish Top 4 with a cup, where if everyone play and manage to their potential is doable.

Dont give a fuck about the 'Tottenham Way' anymore, Im up for us being a bunch of ****s that get results and win trophies. We havnt won a fucking trophy since 2008 yet people are undecided on a guy that has won everything.

Jose has had a good amount of time to assess the strengths and weaknesses of this side and as long Levy the lemming helps Jose address the areas that need strengthening I think we could surprise a few next season.

Based on the rumoured players coming in and going out I fear we will be worse than this season and be pottering around mid table

He’s a chequebook manager and needs money.

Like a couple of others have said, our performance in the transfer window will significantly affect the expectation for next season.

But based on the noises coming out the club, I am not expecting us to match any of the top 4 in the transfer window so I just dont see it realistic to expect us to gain any ground on them.
We are not miles away, a few players in key areas I feel would make a massive difference but does anyone really have faith in Levy & co to deliver whats needed?
A shrewd net spend of 40-50m could easily be the difference in keeping Kane beyond next season and not.

So with the expectation of a fairly meh window, I see us battling out with Wolves & Leicester for 6-7th

Do you think it is expectations that drive the transfer strategy or the transfer strategy driving expectations?
