I think it makes sense for Jose to be wary of pulling the trigger on Eze if funds are limited this summer. Especially with the likes of Willian (free) or Coutinho (loan) being touted around. He'd probably want to hold on until those kind of doors get completely shut.

In a normal window I'd consider a deal like Eze a total no brainer, especially if Amos can be tied in, but this isn't normal.

Good news on PEH if he is indeed Jose's #1 and he comes in early. Kim looks an interesting one that could have a big upside if he comes good.
Think JM would prefer Willian.

IF we can do early business with PEH and 2 more, that'll be great.

PEH I get. He clearly fills a hole. And even if neither of Skipp or Sissoko leave we are not necessarily crowded in that position.

Kim and Eze is different. Who are we selling?

I hope they are Jan and Lamela replacements myself

Interesting. Only seen him on YouTube but it seems like he’s a cut inside dribbling winger type rather than a talented passer with vision. Plus almost all of the highlights come with him in space rather than timing to face a low block. Class player no doubt I just worry about the fit here.

You could be right. I've got a few QPR supporting friends so have watched him a number of times and that was the impression I got.

You are right about the low block as QPR don't tend to face that kind of opposition.

The way Jose plays however I think would suit him as he has a touch of Dembele/Grealish about how he receives the ball and moves past opponents.

If we could get him I think he would do well but have a feeling that we will spend our money in other areas and he will end up being going elsewhere.

I agree with this, whilst Eze looks to be very talented, spending £20m ish on a player who is unlikely to be a first team starter is a bit of a gamble right now. If we can get Eze and one other attacking player then it makes sense, but if we only have funds for one attacking player then we should see if the likes of Coutinho are available on loan before pulling the trigger on Eze.

I guess the other factor is whether we can sell anyone as well, perhaps if we can shift Lamela then it makes sense to bring in Eze as his replacement and still have space for one other.

Also great to see we're making progress on Kim and PEH - would be great to get both CB and DM positions sorted out early.
I gave both you a disagree rating only because in my opinion, Eze would be long term on the upward path, while the other two are on the downward path with limited shelf life. Onions

Nice piece of ITK cheers herc. CB and DM priorities it seems with our defensive frailties over the past few years if we get these over the line early and focus on full backs and a back up for harry then it's a successful window for me maybe a cheeky attacking midfielder on loan and we will have decent squad depth for all competitions

Gotta consider that Jose would probably feel Willian or Coutinho would give him more impact and a better chance of winning titles in the 2-3 years he’s likely to be here than the slow burn gain the club would get out of Eze. Can see why the club would be pushing him toward Eze over an older player. It’s just whether Jose thinks he has enough to offer in the short term over a more experienced player.

Dier replaces Jan
Kim is another young prospect, maybe seen as a more suitable centre back than Foyth
However I would like to see Foyth convert to right back, I think he'd do better there, and get another right back to replace Aurier
If not then Foyth out on loan rather than sell. We still have Carter Vickers, KWP and Rose to sell so could fund Kim and possibly Hojberg with the money if Levy gets the cost down.
We should definitely go for Eze but we're being linked with Diaz too so could possibly be what Jose has in mind as the alternative.

Is it wrong of me to fancy both Eze and Brooks coming in? Would give a bit of an injection to the squad in the creative attacking sense that we are sorely lacking, and options of course. Obviously unlikely to happen for obvious reasons, but a deep squad sure will be needed next year, certainly if our injuries are even half as bad.

PEH is necessary, we need a CDM so much. This Kim guy is a bit random to me. Just not proven in any way, maybe worth a gamble though as a 5th CB.

Eze/ Brooks would be exciting. Would take either one.

I agree. However we aren't spending on two players of this ilk and position. Unless of course someone like Lucas goes.

Lucas, Son and Lamela are creeping up to 30 now so we certainly need to be thinking about getting players in who are under 24. That way we won't be In a situation 2 years down the line where we need to replace 3 or 4 players because they've passed their peak.

You also want players to fit right in once they regress.

Like what Fergie used to do.

Lamela is expendable if right genuine interest. Italy his only preferred. No loans would be considered. Unsurprisingly Josè like him, due to his attitude.

Lamela out and Eze or Brooks in would be good business. I love Lamela but we need more end product from his position, and could really use with a player whose fitness is more reliable as well. Eze or Brooks would provide us with the Lo Celso alternative we currently lack.

If thought process is Hojbjerg in , Skipp on loan out, then cannot see Sissoko leaving. With Dier, Toby,Tanganga now signing long term deals after Jose took over , its hard to see us signing another CB - so not sure how we will use KMJ. Given he has never played in competitive league or competitive tournaments for country (not going to count Asia cup)...we should probably loan him out for a season if we buy him -see how he does in a championship side like a Bournemouth or Norwich.

Eze again cant see how Jose will integrate him if we buy him. But certainly looks a good talent and potentially a good PL player.

Lot of hard decisions ahead for club - we need to sort out our main priorities first - Hojbjerg, RB and second striker.
