There's a reason Mourinho trusts him. He'll give everything for the shirt. He gets it.
100% he's been brilliant the past few matches. I wonder if people are now starting to see why he gets the start ahead of Bergweign currently.
Bergweign is a good talent but Lucas is much more reliable in terms of his defensive discipline and shape and work rate etc. Top class today and 2 nice assists.

What’s great is we finally have a player of bergwijns quality to rotate with and come off the bench. I’m sure through a season he will hit form and have his opportunity as a starter but just having such quality options is a rare occurance.

He’s been great lately. I understand why people get frustrated with him at times, but he’s one of my favourite players. Always gives his all, generally gets among the goals and has the ability to take people on.

He runs himself in to the ground every single game he plays for us. I've doubted him in the past, but that's probably because I presumed he was the kind of player who would chip in with 15-20 goals per season. He isn't.

However the last 3 games have shown he can really play a pivotal role in our team. A role perhaps no one else in the squad can play.

Interestingly he seems to be better as an inverted left winger than his usual right wing position.

I didn’t know he been inverted. He’s contributing much more though. Mostly through his brilliant determination.

Moura has a unique physical skill set including the ability to put himself to make plays, defensively and offensively that other player's can't or won't. It is a combination of his hustle, quickness, speed and jumping ability. So while he makes more than his share of mistakes, he also makes some of those mistakes when others wouldn't be in the middle of the play. Hence, when he is in the zone, he is unplayable.

Granted that his fourth or fifth touch sometimes resembles a sledgehammer when it comes to touch, he also has some nifty close quarters ball control that is similar to a version of Messi's signature move. That is, play the ball from one foot to the other close or under the body and in stride to maneuver around the defender. (To be fair, Charles Hughes was promoting that move 40 years ago.) He used that touch on the second goal of the Ajax game and he has used it at least 3x in the last four or five games to beat a defender with plenty of space between them.

At worst, he is a great squad player. If Jose can bring up his mentality to a more consistent standard, than you have a real threat on a weekly basis. We don't know yet who will positively respond to Jose's coaching style and who won't. So while the squad needs refreshing and i have opinions who i'd like to see go, i'll defer to Jose at this point and look at how we are playing midseason next year.

He just looks more at home on the wing which makes sense as that’s where he played most his career.

Him and Serge should also have a decent understanding seems they played on the same side and team at psg.

I watch Lucas since his academy days here in Brazil, and I must say that i never liked him as a players, but he will be a important player for Mourinho. I always thought he struggles a lot when he has to think, but i think he can shine in counter situations, which is all we play for nowadays. He will always frustate me, but his speed and work rate will be key for us under Mourinho.

Holding my hands up to say I may have got this one wrong and it may have just simply been down to where he was playing rather than his decision making.

Not only has his work rate been superb, his passing and movement have improved.

As i said above, i always thought he was a dumb player, and i wont change my mind because i think he wont develop more bacause of his age, but that doesnt mean that he can't be a important player for us, especially as a counter-attacking team. Me and my friends like to compare him to Sterling, as in that they are not the smartest players around, but i think that Sterling has developed better because of the quality of the league that he has been playing since he is 18/19 years old and also because he plays in a system that creates many situations where he doesn't have to think all that much.

He's frustrated me for so long and I to was really doubting his all round ability.

He's been superb the last 3 games.

Sterling is one of smartest players in EPL. He was criticised for his finishing which has improved considerably
