Sometimes I feel the inconsistency with VAR is worse than we had before. Been said many times im sure, but really needs to be for only obvious mistakes, clear offsides, blatant handballs and so on. Of course that is the narrative that's pushed, but its not really played out like that so far, when zooming in to find millimetres for offsides and replaying things time and time again and coming to different conclusions depending on who the ref happens to be and their mood on any given day ( and maybe certain biases). Also im not really a fan of going with the 'umpire's call' as it is in cricket, where you go with the on field decision to too much of an extent. I don't care about sparing the refs blushes or whatever, the point of them is to make the right call, and VAR is a tool to that end, what he original thought should be irrelevant.

Evans pulled Lamela down and he gets the freekick! Amazing.... fucking amazing. Ruined a brilliant break for us as well. Fuck these refs.

That’s a red card to Evans not a freekick to Leicester what a joke of a referee

And was bulkier than his son is at the same age, according to Martin Tyler, who clearly takes an interest in such things.

obviously he got the measuring tape out to compare different sizes etc. He must be close to that family ?

I may be wrong but I believe umpires call is at least in part to account for a certain margin of error in the technology.
