It's nice being the other team, how many times have we watched spurs play 'better' than the other team and lose, we are starting to play like a team of winners not a team of nice footballers.

If we were all pointing at Mourinho when we were playing turgid, hesitant football without any fit strikers, we have to credit this half to Mourinho, because it's been the result of tactics and a world class striker.

We've been trying to play counter-attacking football for a long time, but now it is working. The difference, of course, is that Mourinho used the break to get our defence into some kind of shape - not perfect, but recognisably solid and organised and with good support from midfield.

For about 15 minutes before and mainly after our goal, Leicester were dominating the ball, Winks and Sissoko were all over the place and we were struggling to clear the pressure, but once we got a fair share of the ball back, we kept the pressure on our goal off for long enough to make a few things happen.

Leicester have attacked with real threat and Lloris has made a few saves, one very good. A fair HT score here would be 2-1 or even 2-2, but our defence looks organised at last and they've been the difference, because their solidity has enabled the fast breaks that have led to the goals.

A word about Lucal Moura. When he arrived, he couldn't/wouldn't defend. Pochettino scarcely played him his first season and he said that was why. Last season, he was at least a responsible player who would tackle in midfield and win the ball. But in six months, Mourinho has turned him into an Aaron-Lennon-style defensive winger who tracks back, harries the opposing wingers and fullbacks and wins the ball.

I feel like lucas would run into dead ends a lot. He seems to be not doing that now.

Kane has got his mojo back.

Winks has been excellent so far as well.

Agree about Kane, but not about Winks.

He’s been ok and his long range pass to Son was good, but everything else he’s done is average and should be expected of any run of the mill midfielder.

He’s definitely not a player who would be a first choice midfield pick for a top team, he plays in a position where he should be controlling the game and setting the tempo but doesn’t have the technique, skill, or intelligence to do so.

Agree, but getting a whole new CM and FB’s is not likely in one window. Agree though that is what we most definitely need ( unless N’Dombele turns things around). Plus another striker.
One midfielder and one RB and we would already look much better. The team needs more balance, I don't yet prescribe to the 'rebuild' chorus of masses.

Big difference defensively for me under Jose is not that we are under less pressure during games, but that we don't look fucking terrified and fall to pieces whenever we are.

And we are getting men behind the ball a lot quicker under Jose. It's a numbers game if you don't have the best players.

Kane isn't back. He wasnt ever off it. We are attacking at pace and he's gwtting the ball in and around the box. That just wasnt happening a few weeks back and there was bugger all Kane could do about it. He was still scoring when he only got 1 sniff in 90mins.
People saying sell him are morons.

Disagree slightly, he missed quite a few chances and seemed to be off it a bit in recent times. Though our play didn't exactly help either, of course ... but to say he was his normal self and it was all external factors is somewhat unfounded. Glad to see finishes like he was delivering a few years back again though, hope it continues.

Tut tut. Your standards are dropping, Mr Matzdorf.

Lucas has more to come, in my opinion. Once that confidence builds up with the JM system.

He is playing a role that you will never ever stand out playing. His job is to plug the gap and receive the ball under pressure and he is doing that well, and has done that well the last three games. He won't get the plaudits but right now he is actually looking like a solid N.6 who is finding his passing game in that position. I'm very happy with him. A big part in our defensive turn around.

Mourinho is giving Brandon a coaching master class.. Mourinho can spot a teams weakness that's for sure.. Our shape is fantastic gone are the days of cb's chasing balls into midfield & out wide.. We're seeing delegation, communication, players holding position.. No more lunatic chase balls that you might or not win from cb's.. This is starting to look like a Mourinho team

Free yourself of the possession obsession and you will realise we were far from poor.

We were losing the ball a lot in our defensive 3rd and inviting pressure. I don't think we need 70% of the ball, but we can't keep losing it cheaply.

Winks has been very good today. Only negative is how exposed we are on our right flank, with Leicester repeatedly getting their LWB beyond Aurier. Sanchez has been very strong at RCB though which has compensated somewhat. Kane's finishing is truly world class. Wouldn't swap him for anyone. Moura and Lo Celso both look a little knackered.
Brenda has obviously instructed the team to target Serge, which is fair enough, but Spurs have been really efficient in exploiting the inevitable imbalances when Leicester lose possession.
