Obviously he wasn't more highly rated by us, as at the time Brooks went to Bournemouth we tried to buy Grealish! Brooks also went for less money than the fee we wanted to pay for Grealish.

I'd be stunned if, in the history of the Prem, a player from a relegated team has made the most open play chances in the Prem. It's so much harder to create in a poor team. I'd wager, that every single season, the most open play chances are created by a player from a CL club. I'd surprised if there was a single example when that wasn't the case.

We were interested in both at different stages if I remember right. In terms of fee who knows what we were prepared to pay. there was even talk we only offered something like 5 million and Onamah. Maybe I’m stretching it with higher rated but at one time Brooks was looking very good in a decent attacking team at the time in Bournemouth and Grealish even though he looked very good was doing it in the championship. Even though I wasn’t one of them most people weren’t to bothered about missing out on Grealish.

like I said out of the two now I would still definitely take Grealish but we are just not going to be able to sign him now so it’s not even worth thinking about him as an option. I just think Brooks could be a very clever signing at a time when he’s gone off the radar.

in terms of Aaron’s I don’t think he’s good enough honestly.

Brooks would be a clever signing.

Aarons - I think he's good enough for rotation but think we need a choice ahead of him/to compete with him.

If Mukiele is going to PSG, I'd look at Celik from Lille. Unfortunately we won't put up the money.

Good to see you posting again Joey!

It feels like I've started smoking again!

I was addicted to this place for about 5 years and I finally managed to break the spell and didn't post for a decade. But I made the mistake of making one little post a few weeks back and now I've been sucked back in!

Anyway, where the hell is BC? I've been back a few weeks and am yet to have run into him and unless he's had a brain transplant in the last decade, he'll surely still require regular tutoring in football righteousness!

They've cancelled BC?

I know the world has gone insane in recent years and you can now "offending" people is a kin to violence, but I find it hard to imagine old BC did anything that bad. He just wasn't that kind of guy. What happened? Is there a link to the incident?

Sign the bloody Leicester right back FFS and be done with it like we should have done the summer we brought in Serge.
Aaron's and grey links seem a return to DL just buying young english players and hoping a coach can bring them on, not actually giving the manager what he wants.

Some say he got stuck in a windsock...

Others say he was brutally beaten by Kyle Walker when he was caught posting faeces through his letterbox...

Whatever happened to him, it's safe to say the man truly was a curate's egg.

No link, it was all done via pms and I’d not want to speculate on the content, but suffice to see he total fucked off the mods.

I just searched for his last posts, to see if I could find out what happened. As you said, nothing related to his banning, but it did highlight is football acumen was as sharp as it was the day I left. He was praising Fulham's transfer dealings in the summer of 2018. They got 26 points that season.

BC would still argue that he was right though. I didn't always agree with his opinions but he definitely stood by them.

You say that like it’s a good thing to be obstinate in the face of facts.

A sign of a rounded person is the ability to change your opinion when presented with a compelling argument/case/facts

Lloris, Gazzaniga, Austin
Aarons, Castagne, Davies, Sessegnon, Cirkin
Alderweireld, Sanchez, Dier, Kim, Tanganga
Hojbjerg, Winks, Gedson, Sissoko, Ndombele, Lo Celso
Dele, Son, Lucas, Lamela, Bergwijn, Willian
Kane, Milik

Aarons, Castagne, Kim, Hojbjerg, Willian, Milik with a few out and a few kids sent on loans would do me fine.

Just a matter of his £80m price tag then ...
Clue is to find talent before they join an English club, it's too late with Pereira.

Yep which is why I'm excited by these signings potentially from the Chinese league and Wigan

Yeah the days where we signed young British players like Bale, Rose, Walker, Defoe, Robinson, Lennon, Dele, Dawson, Carrick and Huddlestone were a disaster.

Guys, he is a good player.

All the attributes to succeed. He is strong, quick and tenacious. He is also 20 and is a player that needs to be developed. If he comes in, he won't come in has a guaranteed starter. He will come in with another player, or we will keep Aurier another year. He has shown to be way more reliable than Walker-Peters, but more than that he has that tenacity and aggression that walker peters often lacks. He is also 3 years younger!

With players like Aarons you have to look at what they could become, not what they are now. Aarons has everything he needs to become a top top fullback, he is homegrown and is ready to be an option from day one. Is he ready to be a starter? Probably not. But you sign for the future and generally this is where the club has done well. Kyle Walker, Danny Rose, Eric Dier, Dele Alli, Tom Huddlestone, Aaron Lennon, Gareth Bale, Assou Ekotto and the list goes on and on and on. Players who weren't bought as starters but developed into useful players for the club, sometimes super quickly other times much more slowly. Aarons fits that bill, the same might be true of Sess in the future as well.

At the moment we are a little low on players who might come in and seamlessly come into the first team in future years. This makes sense as a signing, it really does. You can't judge a 20 year old in the same way as you judge a 24 year old it is completely unfair. You get the same comments of people like Skipp, and in the past Kane got a lot worse at that age! See what they can be, not what they are. Anyone starting games in the PL at 20 is a talent. Aarons is one of the absolute top talents in the league for his age group.

I like Aarons, he is not the finished article but He can be a top player in future ... But I would also have someone like Aurier in the squad if we are only going to buy Aarons only ...
