@Dougal out of interest, I went back to the beginning of October and there was a poll on here with 55.3% in favour of wanting Poch to stay. At the time, people wanted to see how the team would benefit from having GLC, Ndombele and Sessegnon in the side.
They had a total of 11 minutes on the pitch together.

I was on board with the “let Mourinho manage us for 3 years, inevitably leave us in a shit state in year 3 but hopefully win a trophy in that time” train but the thing that most worries me about that is letting him do the rebuild.

Nonetheless I was willing to give him the summer transfer window and a decent chunk of next season to turn it around as he deserves that much but now I‘m looking at the rest of the season and thinking if we carry on like we are then he can fuck off in the summer for all I care.

Yeah, Levy has fucked up big time but there’s no way we should be this bad and it all just seems like we’re already in season 3 Mourinho mode where players have zero confidence and zero team morale.

posted this in the mtach thread.... but still hols true.

the fact we had to rely on VAR for avoiding defeat against bournemouth, a team who's lost 7 out of the last 8, prior to meeting us conceding 21 goals in those games, and we failed to muster a shot on target, tells you all you need to about us at the moment and for the last 12-18 months. we are rotten to the core, from top to bottom.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

It was a shame but I guess that we have to remember that whilst Poch was unfortunately sacked, he did also look like a man who had given up by then anyway.

It also looks for the first time in quite a while that we actually have some sort of tactics and game plan on the pitch.

I would say this is progress.

Four shots in the whole game and zero of them on target against the team 2nd to bottom in the league and you’re happy with our tactics / game plan o_O

Sorry I disagree. We didn’t “rely” on VAR. there was a clear offside and no goal. They had a huge slice of luck to avoid conceding a penalty that may wel have placed one of their feet in the door of relegation. How this penalty if given affects the game afterwards is conjecture but it is hard to argue it would.
the rest of your points I agree with largely.

It was about 50/50 at the time and if anything it was still leaning in Poch’s favour. But yes, a lot of people bought into the Mourinho Trophy Guarantee. Who are we to say it won’t still happen? The only thing going against it is every shred of evidence.
It was 50/50 but that was because the thread was started a while before the event and more or less everyone voted in the first knockings. By the time the axe fell if you threw a stone into SC you'd have hit poster who wanted Poch out. That's not to say there weren't people around who wanted to back him but.........

After keeping about three clean sheets all season, we’ve now kept 3 in 4 games (would have been 4 in 5, if not for Pogba’s penalty).
He’s spinning one plate while all the others are crashing to the ground. That’s not a tactical plan. Where else in the world would this be considered ‘management’. Does a restaurant manager make sure table 3 gets the best possible service while they’re starving at table 7, table 4 is on fire and table 6 has been thrown through the window?

For the less astute among us, would you mind elaborating on what the tactics and game plan consist of?

Slowly destroying the morale of everyone in the stadium and hoping we fluke an own goal?

Post after post - it's same every time with Spurs fans. We laugh at West Ham and Arsenal and the entitled likes up North - we're not any better.

The team looks utterly lacking in confidence - Jose doesn't appear to be inspiring them right now.

Did I say I was happy with our game plan, or did I say it’s clear to see we have one even if our players are failing to execute it?

Did you read what I wrote, or did you just waste your time cropping images to counter a point you made up in your own head?

Sorry, I don't mean to dig you out - but what do you expect people to post on a Spurs forum? We're talking about the Spurs manager in the thread about the Spurs manager. You don't always have to be the contrarian, you know? Could take a backseat and not post if you don't have anything to actually say.

I have loads to say quite often - but this is all we do as a fan base - dig out managers. While we're all piling into Mourinho - the same fan base at the start of Poch's, Harrys etc piled in when it wasn't working.

Some piled in because they didn't like the hire, others because of tactics and so on. It's the same every time with every manager. Thing is on this one, the leash seems shorter because the manager previous, after a rocky start, came good.

Don't have to be personal about it either, but you were.

Carry on.

Outside of the clear and obvious tactic of searching for Aurier down the right flank to cross it in, what really gets my goat is how apathetic we are in the opposition half and seemingly get to the penalty box without a clue of how to penetrate or even worse, get to an advanced position to only then look to play it back into our half.

This passive bollocks, multiple touch football coupled with an inability to find the final pass or dare we even ask for them to take a shot outside the penalty box is driving me nuts but of course, the $64,000 question is whether we apportion this to the managers directive or our international players not taking responsibility.

It's 50/50 for me just on the basis that Mourinho's tactics since restart are hard to fathom (going forward at least) but the same complaints about the same players (playing squad as a whole) are being levelled match in match out since pretty much the start of the season. Be it, touches of the ball, movement in front of the ball carrier, or even the simple 5 yard pass and trapping of a football.

Sadly, I feel it's too far gone if the feeling on here about Mourinho is the same feeling among the wider fan base as a whole.

It's a slippery slope, one we've been down before.

Some of the posts on here are very over the top.

Mourinho is a big name manager it shows how far we have come as a club. He’s tightened up the defence which was a big mess , we are effectively playing glorified friendliest right now ! Judge the man after a full season and a couple or transfer windows

I think our main problem is we have a lot of problems. Trying to pin it down and fix one issue hoping it’ll lead to 3 points is being way way overly optimistic. It’s my main problem with bringing in Mourinho. We had enough shit on our plate and we bring in, what in my opinion was, a whole new shitshow. Just adding petrol to the fire.
