Can we get this reduced on appeal to a 3 match ban on the grounds that he has already served a quarter of this sentence when he went missing with all the other Spurs defenders in the Sheffield United game last week ?
People want him sacked . WHAT ? I have been in a position where a family member was or I thought was in danger and I reacted as any right thinking person would and so OK he is guilty he is then punished end of the matter you would think .
Some of the comments by some of the people on this site I have to say " get back to your monestary " as you are obviously impervious to danger to one of your own . And dont break your neck when getting off of your high horse .
I did not realise a lot of our supporters were seemingly saints .
To mention wages and club responsibilities in such moments is utterly below the belt and I hope in the same position I would respond in a similar fashion fuck the money fuck football this is my family.
Montalbano nice drawing but no words to back up the insult . I have written my stance what is your stance as a cartoon does not cut it
Flip meI just think it shows a fundamental lack of respect to the club who made you to think you can go wading into the stands to confront someone who your brother had physically confronted.
For that reason, I really wouldn't care one way or the other if his contract wasn't renewed and he was sold at the end of the season.
The general consensus is that he's been one of our best defenders since the restart. So when people were calling for him to be sacked, they were joking and being sarcastic. That's all.I know I am getting on in age and admit to being a bit slow but I still dont get the joke please explain.
Dier never got near the bloke. The 'fan' said he didn't feel threatened and the Police verified that so I think it's a complete over reaction from the FA to determine the complete opposite to what the evidence highlighted. If Dier had been 5'2" instead of 6'2" I think there'd be a different outcome.
As soon as a player enters the crowd and is seen to approach a fan, they're gonna give him a lengthy ban regardless of the context, their size, etc.Dier never got near the bloke. Talking about precedent, we shouldn't invent lengthy punishments for every person who is inherently under control the entire time (which Dier indeed was). Otherwise, the message is that you might as well really go bananas once you are at it, because the ban will hit you regardless of how extreme you are or are not.As soon as a player enters the crowd and is seen to approach a fan, they're gonna give him a lengthy ban regardless of the context, their size, etc.
They just can't be seen to allow players to go aggressively running into the crowd as it sets a terrible precedent.
The racism stuff is obviously ridiculous and those bans and fines should be much higher, but, taken in isolation, I see nothing wrong with this ban.
Again the penalty does not fit the crime. He did no more than go into the crowd and attempt to confront a fan. How the FA can determine that this was threatening behaviour is beyond me. As far as I am aware the fan refer to himself as an 'idiot' and it all blew pretty quickly.
This every day of the week. The racism stuff is obviously ridiculous and those bans and fines should be much higher, but, taken in isolation, I see nothing wrong with this ban.
