Three points and a clean sheet but why am I not thrilled?

We still look disjointed and dire at times, but you could see at least the players tried not to lose this when.

Good to see that our Captain Lloris has some bite (reprimanding Son), more of that please

Dier my man of the match

That was like an Onyx vs Onyx pokemon battle. The only attack is headbutt and we got a KO with a sliver of life left.

Players were poor today, so boring. Lo Celso scrapes second, Siggy our best player until he went off. Then Everton really tried a bit harder.

That was two flat teams going through the motions, produced almost nothing of note between them, and one got lucky with a deflection to nick the win. At least it was Spurs that got the luck though, if nothing else.

Probably give it to Dier, three or four times he was in the right place to clear or make a header when needed.

Signs of improvement again. More organised and defending as a team. Let's not forget how woeful this side were in that respect. JM is making us hard to beat, using defensive tactics to help stop the decline. I'd like to see some prettier stuff, but pragmatism is what we need at the moment. As boring to watch as it is at times.

Dier and Lo Celso my stand outs.

I usually defend Moura, as he draws a lot of fouls and adds a speedy element. But overall I thought he was poor.

But, for me, positives as a win is a win against a very tactical and good side.

Yes boring game but clean sheet, discipline, focus, effort, organisation, game management and 3pts! Those are things which can lead to success. As I’ve said before it often ain’t pretty but it can be pretty effective. Given how shit and incompetent we were against Sheffield United that was an important performance and win. More and more signs of us becoming a Jose Mouriniho team, I just hope he can get some players he wants.

Loved Toby back at CB for this game, defence was solid, loved Hugo shouting at Son for not tracking back, that’s what we need a bit of fire in our bellies, loved gio playing further forwards, loved the tactical fouls and shithousery especially on Richarlison, it was clear that the tactics were to stop him at all costs and by doing that we stopped them, they had 6 touches in our box, finally I loved the result.

lloris 8- did what he needed to do with the saves and got an extra point for shouting at son more of that please Hugo

Aurier - 6 did ok down the right
Toby 7 solid
Dier 8 class
Davies 7 strong

Sissoko 7 good all round effort
Winks 7 good all round effort

Lucas 7 good effort
Lo celso 8 love him
Son 7 did ok

Kane 7 very strong defensive display lol

Lloris 7

Aurier 7
Dier 7.5
Toby 7
Davies 7

Winks 6
Sissoko 6

Lo Celso 7.5 MOTM
Son 7
Moura 5

Kane 6

Subs
Lamela 7
Bergwijn 7

The less said the better, gave it to Lo Celso as not a great game but him or dier were the only ones marginally above average. At least our defence was solid, the performances from our fullbacks were probably the best we'll see but still only just warrants a 7

Never felt so utterly apathetic about a win. No changes until the 78th min, awful football, fighting each other more than for the ball, sloppy passes, every tackle was a foul. What’s not to love?

Lloris - 6 - Not much to do but at least showed some passion for high standards with that rant at Son.
Aurier - 6 - Cannot remember anything he did going forward at all.
Toby - 6 - Ok
Dier - 6 - Ok
Davies - 5 - Gave it away a lot today.
Winks - 4- Just slows down everything by passing backwards or sideways. Slowly. And he cannot defend at all. Not a DCM. Where is the Winks that used to play quick, vertical passes and accelerate thought the tiniest of gaps to launch attacks?
Sissoko - 5 - Does not want the ball when we have it which says it all. He is a utility player who is at his best when things are manic and he does not have time to think.
Lo Celso - 7 - Seemed more intent on riling their players than running the game. Mind you, him and Lamela can be quite entertaining.
Son - 6 - Finally showed a little bit of intent to score after an hour, which was clearly too much for Mourinho who quickly took him off. That’ll teach him.
Moura - 5 - He is great at getting in the way and breaking down moves. His strength is running at pace with the ball at his feet. Unfortunately he is played in a position where he spends 95% of his time with his back to goal expected to play one touch football.

<ISOLATION>

...

Kane - 5 - Looked lonely and disinterested. Touched more of the ball in our penalty box than theirs which is a sad indictment of ‘Jose ball’.

</ISOLATION>

Subs:
Bergwijn - 6
Lamela - 7
Vertonghen - Did he touch the ball?

Mourinho - 3 - Dire tactics. At home. Against a crap team. We did not deserve to score, and we deserved to concede an equaliser by playing negative football and conceding a series of cheap free kicks. If this is what he is serving up then I am done watching. If we had looked solid then a clean sheet would have been worth getting excited about. But Everton only did not score as they are so poor.

I understand that it was boring but your points are a little strange:
•Jose always makes good changes but today the game was very tense and making many changes and early on wouldnt have been beneficial at all
•We fought very well for the ball and Lloris shouting at son is what our team has missed for many years we’ve been too soft with no leaders, it’s about setting a precedent and a standard
•the fouls were mainly tactical fouls in good clever areas and the game plan worked to a tee.

That player never existed, was completely made up by Spurs fans.

Only watched the second half, but I'll vote Dier because he won a couple of headers and stuff.

No he doesn’t, no it isn’t and no they weren’t. We literally gave away numerous free kicks in dangerous positions. That wasn’t a Simeone-esque masterclass. It was turgid dog-shit that we came through unscathed due to Everton’s utter incompetence and a lucky own goal.

Should have gone for undecided because there wasn't really an outstanding player on the pitch.
