If we can manage to keep winning our games we'll the teams in front of us will come under big pressure.

What do you regard as our CB pairing ?
Because I don't think any of Sanchez, Tanganga, Vertonghen as he is now he has aged, Toby as he is now he has aged or Foyth gets in above any of theirs. Before the game in the week we had kept the least clean sheets of any team in League (4), at least now we have gone above Norwich in that stat. We have had to move a 3rd or 4th choice central midfielder there in last few games because the others don't cut the mustard.

And it isn't just a case of form, it is standard of players. We have basically replaced our whole back 4, and have replaced them with weaker players, in effect the prior seasons substitutes.

And I disagree, I think Leicester or Wolves would both be more likely to progress in CL than us with the current squads we all have, simply because they are better teams than us. They don't have the glaring weakness that we do. Leicester have scored 9 (the 3rd most in league) and conceded 12 less (the 2nd least in league) than us this season, do you somehow think that is a fluke ?

Did you watch Chelsea's game today? Our CB's and GK would definitely start for them

Great shout because our centre halves have not been bang average all season.

Our's kept a clean sheet against West Ham and we pretty easily dismantled them. Chelsea's defense conceded 3 goals against the same team.

Interestingly, I think we're going to be the bookmakers' favourites for each of our last 7 games.

Chelsea have had a BRILLIANT season Under Lampard !
Spurs are piss poor having sacked Poch and brining in loser Jose !

Reality :
Table says, Chelsea are 9 points ahead of Spurs with a game in hand for Spurs...
Chelsea have only scored 7 more goals than Spurs...
Chelsea have conceded 3 more goals than Spurs...

So Chelsea have a poorer defense & ok-ish attack. Yet, narrative is so different.

Yes, Chelsea are going to get Werner, Ziyech - may be Chillwell, Havertz...but lets be honest - they have a shite GK and a ageing backline. Key contributions have come from likes of Giroud, Willian, Azpiliqueta...I dont see how they will be playing so much better next season.

If we keep our core squad, add in couple of players and help Kane with a no9, under a fresh Jose season -we should defend far better and play more solid football than this season.

I’d totally conceded top 4 and still think we’ve got a 12.452% chance AT MOST however, if we stay within 5-6 points of the teams around us going into the final 3 fixtures, take a look particularly at how often our rivals play eachother. IF we stay close, why the fuck not?

You have the mentality of an 8 year old and I will just leave it there.

Because you're clearly wrong...

At least I have some belief in my own team. I hate that some of our fans turn bitterly negative toward our team during a period of trouble.

So based on your simple assessment of how football matches work...we drew 0-0 with Watford..Liverpool lost 3-0 Watford ...that makes us better then Liverpool???

Also you don't understand that Chelsea set up more offensively from defensive point of view with both full backs going forward therefore leaving their centre halves more exposed down the channels. Unlike ourselves who allows just one full back to go forward therefore should make a better defensive unit. If Chelsea set up the same way then defensively and individually apart from the Keepers as clearly Hugo currently is better then Kepa they are just as good as us.

Also I'm not being negative about us...I'm offering a balance argument that is not prejudiced by my hatred for a rival club. I'm quite positive to what I have seen especially from a defensive perspective but let's not get carried away after two games. We smash Sheff Utd tomorrow and I will be jumping on the bandwagon.

You said you think we would be lucky to have one player - GLS - who would start for Chelsea, didn't you? (Or was that the other poster - apologies I don't remember exactly who said it).

In any case, no it doesn't mean everything of course. But given we played West Ham a week apart, I would say it decently indicates current form. I definitely think our defense is superior to Chelsea's though (and in fact the stats this season even support that). Had our defense played that badly against West Ham we'd have people lining up guillotines.
