I need to rewatch this match, because I thought Alli was actually quite good! When I compare his performance to Lamela's against UTD, Alli was finding passes that Lamela wasn't

A well organized team started off slow for 20minutes but then started controlling the game.
A clean sheet.
Some excellent performances.
GLC will be outstanding for us. An excellent signing as with Stevie.
Been very impressed with Dier and sissoko.
Disappointed with Alli as I think he's an excellent player and this game to his standard, he was poor.
Serge looks good going forward, should work better at the crosses and to be fair he made the runs and did try but in defense he seems liable of making silly mistakes that could cost us a game every time.

I'm happy. 2 nil against West Ham and 3 points... Can go on and build on this now.

Suddenly our squad is looking very decent. I thought Dier was excellent and had saved us around 50mil. Think we are fine at centre back.
Sissoko was also impressive I thought. Lo Celso is incredible. Felt our overall play was better but still too slow at times.

GLC MOTM
Dier and Sissoko both played well and wasn’t as worried about Aurier as usual!,
Generally played okay as a team but a little ponderous at times.....
Would like to see some minutes for Ndombele and sessegnon as well

Clean sheet fantastic, think Dier and Sanchez will build as a pair with Dier my mom.

first half just felt everything was too slow and laboured , it felt like we couldn’t pass but as the game opened up we improved.

Bergwijn looks great and direct.
Kane is building up and I think we are going to see the benefits of his rest once he gets up to match speed.
I like Alli (moustache!!!!!) as I think he has that bit of class that can unlock a game but he needs to get up to speed, closest he got was nearly getting on to that Kane pass.
love Lo Celso and ge will be excellent for us
Sonny - just need you to run at them and use your pace.
Moussa- wish you could pass
Lamela - if only you had a right foot you would be awesome- make sure you are fit for the goons.
Moura - flashes yesterday
Both full backs steady and Aurier attacked well - still makes me nervous.
we still have a mistake in us and just need to build confidence.

Ndombele - so want to see him and for him to do well as he could be the missing link we need creativity wise.
Jose - job well done

Spammers are looking poor it must be said. They still gave us a couple scary moments 1st half . Great to have first win in eight
but we'll surely face far, far sterner tests . Signs of the defence solidifying very welcome .

GLC (8) MoM. Sissiko (7) and Aurier (7) pretty good . Moura (6) ran his socks off pressing and played OK ,don't understand some ratings for him.Bergwijn (6) is no better than LM imo .
Dier(7) looks good at CM .I like his leadership attributes too . Great that Kane(6) got a goal after a slow start ,hopefully that helps him back towards a full recovery . Dele (5) not a game to remember , his substitution helped with Lamela's(6) introduction .Sonny (5) was flat.

Weird feeling to actually win a match. Encouraging signs that Jose is starting to get a grip on our defence ,tho it was a poor Spam team
and we shouldn't get carried away .

I thought Lo Celso (8) was very good, Sissoko (7) harried and pressed...shame his passing is so bad, Sanchez (7) was composed as was Dier (7), Kane (6) was ok but gets an improved score for his well taken goal, Davies (6) did well to recover from being targeted for his aerial weakness, Aurier (6), Bergwijn (6) Was good and only gets this score as he wasn't on long, Lamela (5) and Son (5) offered industry but a poor end product, Moura (4) was poor...I can't fathom why he doesn't use his brain he just runs and falls over, Alli (3) was shocking and has been poor for quite some time imo

Lo Celso MOM. Dier not far behind. Sissoko put in a massive shift, as did Aurier.

Lucas IMO was much better than many seem to think. Sanchez solid enough as was Davies.

HK worked hard and eventually got his goal.

Sonny was pretty poor by his standards and Dele was mostly awful (not through lack of effort), so much so that the game swung in our favour as soon as he got hooked.

Lo Celso played like Modric so my Motm. Dier, Sanchez, Kane, Davies, Lamela were also impresive as was Aurier in attacking phase. Son was disappointing but still got a nice assist. Dele worst player on the pitch but wingers didn't help out with watching the game instead of making runs.

Solid performance without being exciting. Should help to build confidence as well as match fitness. GLC is a class act and will get better and better. The more he plays the more we will see our front players shine. Sissoko is the ideal foil in midfield

GLC for me. Thought that the Sanchez-Dier pairing is actually quite good. Dier showed passion and leadership at the back last night

Lloris was again reliable, alert and dealt with the little he had to deal with without fuss.

Aurier played well. Good crosses, took up great positions and made good defensive contributions sweeping behind when crosses came from the other side.

Sanchez was very good, strong and read the game very well.

Dier likewise, really asserted himself and dominated the space in front of him.

Davies protected his flank well, passed out nicely and kept a very good shape to make a 3 with the centre backs.

Sissoko used his poser well, keeping the ball under pressure, passing intelligently and protecting the defence consistently.

Lo Celso was our best player. Took him a little while to find his feet but once he did he gave us nice drives forward and a great range of passing. Lovely to watch.

Lucas was ok, energetic and looking for ways to attack but he never quite threatened as I imagine he’d have liked to.

Dele likewise. He’s attracting his usual barrage of over the top ire, but he was fine. First half most good we did involved Dele holding and linking in the final third, and he always showed for the ball too. Not at his most instinctive but then again his face doesn’t fit so he won’t get afforded the same slack as Kane or Son after their first games back v Utd.

Son was ok too, like the above too his rhythm wasn’t quite there and his dribble attempts tended to go nowhere while his touch was off. Nicely taken goal if he’d been more on his toes as opposed to his heels with the West Ham defence.

Kane clearly had a point to prove, and I was pleased early on that he was getting involved, albeit it seemed forced. Then from the first drinks break onward he looked more like himself, and the team upped its game with him. Beautiful pass to Dele, lovely long shot, then in the second half two chances in the box that you’d expect him to get on target but he missed, before a very nicely taken goal where he showed power, pace, and sharpness. Very happy and while I don’t expect a return if his 22 year old action hero self, if this performance becomes his standard he’ll score in most matches he plays.

Lamela and Bergwijn both improved us with a bit more sharpness and rhythm, not surprising considering they already had a game in their boots from Friday compared to the players they replaced. Winks I didn’t much notice.

Decent performance all in all, most pleasing is we had method and rhythm to our play and while we weren’t totally synchronised in the final third, we controlled proceedings for the most part, played with intent and looked organised. Baby steps but this, like the first half v Utd, was encouraging,

I thought it was a good composed performance. You can see that Jose is starting my structurally making us better defensively, I’m sure the attacking play will come.

Lloris - 6 - I thought he was very good against united but was disappointed with his flapping from corners today.

Davies 7 first twenty minutes I feared the worse, missed a few back post headers and was outmuscled. Jose seemed to have a word at first drinks break and he became more aggressive. Great cross to Lucas first half.
Sanchez- 6 looked fine but was beat a little too often in the air. Disappointed with his distribution, he gives away possession too often with poor long balls.
Dier 8 dominant performance and contained Antonio very well. Wins everything in the air and drives the team. Love him stepping out if defence to up the tempo as with his shot.!future captain.
Aurier 7 gives us an outlet and gets into great positions but final ball needs to improve. Defensively was solid but still managed one brain fart which is frustrating.

sissoko 6 clumsy in possession first half and I feel West Ham played to let him be the receiver knowing his limitations. As ever once the game became stretched he improved with string running and interceptions.
Lo celso 8.5 after a quiet 20 mins where he looked a little rusty, he dictated the game. As soon as he moved with the ball and started committing West Ham defenders we looked far better in the front foot. Impressive.
Son 6.5 I actually thought he was laboured and kept coming back inside first half. He made very poor runs which hindered kane and Alli as they had no option. Not fit. However he gets a 7 as he was instrumental when the game stretched and the contributions he made were a disallowed goal and a great assist.
Lucas 6.5 looked for the ball early in and had a vicious shot tipped over. Very poor miss on strike of half time and visibly tired second half.

Alli 6.5 he made some great runs and showed for the ball in good positions. Was let down by the lack of movement by kane and Son. Getting some harsh ratings on here, when a team plays a low block like West Ham there isn’t much space but thought he played well. Tired second half but was involved in 2 good breaks before withdrawn.

kane 7 - wasteful in possession first half but was visibly growing into the game building confidence. Looked hungry second half and more like the Kane of old. Great finish.

subs
Lamela - 7 changed the whole tempo of the game when he came on and was exactly what we were lacking. Was tenacious and won the ball in good positions. Final ball is off still but otherwise a great cameo. Did fantastically for second goal.

Bergwyn - 6.5 good cameo which showed his quality on the ball and intelligence with his runs. When fully fit he has great potential.

It's amazing how much the result influences these ratings here. Make no mistake, the first half was very poor and very few players can come away with any credit from it. The opening goal was a complete fluke and should have been disallowed, that meant West Ham had to come out and attack us which left space for Kane to get his goal. If it had been disallowed and we'd dropped points then half of you praising our players would be giving much lower scores.

GLC was easily the best player on the pitch. The back five all did pretty well particularly Dier. Kane was crap in the first half but got much better in the second. We looked a lot better when Lamela and Bergwijn came on. Alli and Son were both very poor (Son's disallowed goal aside), Lucas and Sissoko had a couple of good moments but largely ineffective.

The first 23 minutes were poor, though we still edged it. The next 22 were far better, and we were clearly ascending and would have deservedly led at half time had Son kept level or Lucas taken his easy chance. Then by the time we took the lead we fully deserved it, having controlled the entire hajf to that point and missed a couple chances you’d have expected us to score. Additionally, the goal might have been fortunes but when you constantly have corners, a by product of being dominant, eventually one ends up leading to a goal. The goal was coming with the possession we were enjoying and the areas we were enjoying it. Perhaps we weren’t slick and we were laboured, but we were pushing up against a 10 man defence, pretty much with all our players including centre backs in their half, and deserved to win by at least the margin that we did if not more.

I also think our subs worked well for us but their weakened them and allowed us to get after them much more.

Tis a pity Ndombele isn't rated, cuz based on available evidence, I'd start him over Dele every game
I think Dele basically purely gets picked because of his goalscoring record. Who else can we play in that position can we rely on to score upwards of 10 league goals a season?

Problem is every other aspect of his game has completely stagnated and picking him often seems to be to the detriment of the team these days.
