I do not know if its due to the Hammers being crap, but this is the first game in a long time that I have actually enjoyed watching us play.

It brought positives as well, including us keeping a very rare clean sheet, and Kane getting our second goal, despite being obviously very knackered.

Positives to the defence where all four played well

My main disappointments were

1) Sonny. He had a very annoying habit of turning back into trouble after getting clear and

2) Not seeing Ndombele coming on for at least a few minutes.

Any way, good win at our 8th attempt in all comptetitions

For his performance over the course of the 90 minutes, Giovanni Lo Celso is my MOTM. Credit also to Sissoko, Aurier and the rest of the defence.

Gio fantastic. Dier, Davies, Aurier, Son, Kane and Lamela very good. Everyone else very capable showing barring Dele who was terrible.

Lo Celso or Dier for me.

Aurier was also excellent.

1) Sonny. He had a very annoying habit of turning back into trouble after getting clear and

Strange I thought he was quietly very good today. Linked up play well, nice turn of pace, was that not him assisting Harry at the end too? Incredible ball.

We've clearly improved over the "break" imo. Lo Celso and Bergwijn are very encouraging. Our defense looked more composed too.

Really really delighted to see Dier perform so well. He looked very solid tonight, defended aggressively and didn't put a foot wrong. He deserves the kudos after a difficult year.

The FA are clearly waiting until we need a win in the final game of the season to clinch a CL place to ban Dier.

Lo Celso is pivotal for us and central to everything good going forward but did think Dier has found his home at the back and coped well with the physicality of Antonio.

Alli just clogged up the attack and i'll be disappointed to see him start over Lamela and/or Bergwijn.

Pleased for Harry though, he needed that but a few minute rest wouldn't do him harm.

Delighted with today. Playing positive meant the whole team looked so much better. It might be West ham but have played shit against Norwich too and other similar teams.

We were lucky with first goal but our play deserved it. Kane had chances. He had service. I loved the fact players were positive on the ball and were showing options.

For me, GLC is MOTM. You just know when he plays he will make us play football. Love this guy already.

Lloris 7
Aurier 6
Dier 8
Sanchez 7
Davies 7
Sissoko 6.5 - did good job but sloppy with ball at times
GLC 9
Dele 7
Son 7
Lucas 7
Kane 8 - i was worried 20 mins but he really started to get involved. It feels like rolled back the clock 2 years once he got going. This Kane is fcuking immense.

Lamela 8 - he just got involved and tracked back. Win the ball back and was positive in his play to get it moving.
Bergwijn 7 - this guy is always looking a threat in front of goal. I thought he would have scored his chance (I know it wasn't easy) but he adds so much positivity to the team.

Dier and Lo Celso were our best players.
Davies, Sissoko, Sanchez played very well.
Kane showed signs of shaking off the rust (surprised he played another 90 minutes!).
Son and Moura were ok.
Dele was disappointing.
Having difficulty working out if Aurier played really well or not. Only one brain fart and covered a lot of ground on the right.
Lloris did not have much to do.
Lamela and Bergwijn sharpened us up when they came on.
Winks was tidy and efficient with the ball.
Ndombele must be training really badly.

Decent performance.
Thought Dier and Gio were our best. Sanchez did reasonably well but lost a fair amount of headers against Antonio, especially when appearing in place to win the header.
Son and Alli infuriate me the more I see them. Both slow the game down a lot of the time, make bad choices and often try the impossible (not the improbable)

Felt we learned plenty from today
That’s our best back five. Aurier has his moments, but he’s all we’ve got for now

Sissoko adds genuine presence
Lo Celso is a gem

Moura and Ali didn’t do themselves any favours

I think we’re closing in on what should be our first XI, and that’s useful to know

Dier was really good again. I think Jose will be delighted that instead of spending 30M+ on a new CB, he already has one if not two (Japhet) in the squad already.
Aurier was pretty good. But still seems to struggle with crosses and does have the occasional brain fart.
Davies was good, unspectacular.
Davinson did well today, considering Antonio was getting knocked over by a feather all game long.
Sissoko is a really good stop-gap measure for us as a DM. Hopefully we hold on to him for next season and add someone like PEH -- giving us some much needed depth in that position.
Lo Celso was excellent and grew into the game.

Sonny seems to be playing within himself at the moment. Needs a couple of goals to get him going, I think.
Moura had a good first half, i thought. Tired quickly in the second.
Dele was a mixed bag. For the first 20 mins I thought he was our best player. Making good runs. Moving the ball forward quickly. But then started doing his flicks and tricks again, that rarely amount to much. But we seemed a bit more balanced with him in there.

Kane looked dead on his feet at half-time. But came roaring back. That goal will do him the world of good.

Lamela, Winks and Bergwin all bought a bit more energy on to the pitch, as we had a lot of tired legs.

Jose - his game plan worked. but i hope that he isn't cutting off his nose to spite his face, with the usage of his subs. i know he's against the 5 sub thing, but he shouldn't stick to his principles for the sake of being obdurate. Hence, why i have no idea why NDombele didn't get 5 to 10 minutes toward the end. Don't track what's going on with the player and the manager. Gotta feel for him.

Not necessarily. He could be training well but based on what we’d seen he has a lot to prove and a long way to go before he is ready. It’s not just fitness, it’s defensive understanding and awareness too. Must have got away with it on talent alone in France but I doubt Mourinho will throw him in again until he is ready.

Overall performance was good. Gio was quality again. We looked a bit leggy and some players still aren’t sharp but hopefully this is a step in the right direction and we’ll continue to improve.

Lloris 7
think he had to make a good save when needed to in the 1st half

Aurier 8
I thought he did well, main outlet on the wing and only saw him not tracking bsck once?!
Sanchez 6
okay, thought Antonio out muscled him at times and lacking in possession
Dier 8
Liking the look of him at CB, commanding and more mobile than Toby, needs a run now without a mistake
Davies 6
Really lacks pace, some good moments but just lacking badly

Sissoko 8
liked him as a DM, covered the channels well, maybe pulled out wide rather than central but broke up West hams play in the 2nd half a lot
Lo Celso 8 MOTM
Oozes class, great close control for Son's disallowed goal, should be an AM

Moura 5
Barely in the game, 1-3 bits of nice play don't make up for 60 minutes of nothing
Alli 5
Same as moura
Son 7
Quiet game by his standards but took the disallowed goal will and set up Kane nicely

Kane 7
Poor 1st half but bsck to his old self in the 2nd

Subs
Lamela 7
Good energy, better than Alli but think he lacks the final ball / shot decision making sometimes
Bergwijn 7
Probably offered more than moura and that was in half the time, should always start ahead of moura
Winks N/A
