He needed a break, time to get away from it all after the CL final.
A quick little job somewhere that's not Newcastle, then back to us, refreshed, revitalised and with an improved philosophy.
I'd take that.
Him and BMJ have been the best managers in my lifetime, for emotional attachment to them.

I'd love a refreshed Poch at the helm, seeing a lot of the highlights of the last few years brought back some great feelings toward the club but I don't think Jose has had a fair crack at the whip yet. Maybe Poch can go and win some things with Madrid and down the line we see what happens with Jose hopefully having some success for us.

Like me he's still not over it. You can see it tonight. He needs a while out of the game, he's still far too emotional about it.

He was brilliant for us. A legend. The CL final, the ongoing contract issues and Levy stubbornness took it out of him. He needed to go, but I’d be delighted if he returned in the future. But Jose needs a fair crack first. He is a winner, regardless of all the good feelings to MP.

Yeah, he needs another job somewhere to get it out of his system too. A club in England is not the answer for him at the moment.

He needs to take a step down to an easier league and team, recharge his cylinders and then return to London for glory. Perhaps Real Madrid would be just such a good temporary assignment.

Cant we just offer Jose to the geordies and then bring back Poch! It’s a win win all round (Well apart from for the Jose fan boys among us) Jose gets bucket full of money Newcastle get big name manager and we get a refreshed Poch back

What about the bit where he said he was wearing the same shirt tonight that he wore in Ajax! Abit weird but good to hear from him. Good luck Poch!

I said in here I thought he was a cert to manage us again one day. No one would be more delighted than me either. I’d like him to go to a club like PSG or Bayern and win things first though. Get that monkey off his back and then return in 3-4 years and lead us to the League title.

He needs a break from us for a few years, and to come back to Spurs when we have a new generation of players and preferably, new owners.

He needs to manage on the continent and win something first. It'll be a disaster if he comes back too soon. It's wonderful to hear him say it and one day I'd love it to happen, but it needs to be an entirely fresh start with a more experienced Poch with a track record of real success behind him.

Additionally he needs to come back to a Spurs which is far more settled than the one he managed - no new stadiums to have to deal with, no team in a mess that needs a complete rebuild. We need to be on the verge and for him to come back to take us on that final step - having learnt how to do it himself.
