Couple of new links. Arthur played well against us at Wembley. The article mentions a player trade. No idea how he’d fair in the PL though. If Barcelona are getting rid of a load of players I’d rather go for Rakitic. They’ve been rumoured to want to move him on for a while.

Tottenham are interested in signing Real Betis' Brazilian full-back Emerson, 21, who is co-owned by Barcelona. (Mundo Deportivo - in Spanish)

Tottenham are also set to rival Inter Milan in a bid to sign Barcelona's Brazilian midfielder Arthur, 23. Mundo Deportivo - in Spanish)

Not sure if it was true but Emerson has connections with Mendes

Willian and Giroud and Meunier on free transfers would all be good business...

For a HG keeper i’d Happily take Hart on a free too, experienced head in the dressing room and serviceable when needed to be!

Pour the little money we have then into a DM and a CB

Hart is useless and seems to be fading fast. Will no doubt want a last payday also. If it’s the HG quota you’re worried about I’d rather have a much younger one.

It's a no from me too on Hart. The 'experienced head' bit may be true, but he sadly hasn't seemed 'serviceable' for a few years now. Would far rather promote a youth squad keeper and see how they fair.

Investing in a really good DM is definitely something to do, although I wouldn't be opposed to getting a lower cost, experienced interim DM for a couple of years (think along the Scott Parker lines) and a younger, high ceiling type too (Tonali?).

No objections to the potential free transfer targets, but I imagine we won't be alone in trying to attract them...

I would be shocked if Barca made Arthur available.

Yes I would be massively shocked. He's a brilliant player who controls games. Always been incredibly impressed when I've seen him play. Would be a fantastic addition but just can't see it.

I keep seeing links to Hojbjerg as our new DM. Has anyone watched him play and would he be a good purchase?

This next window will be all about long term loans and going after free agents. I'm guessing, like most teams will have much less cash to throw around.
I can see loans sort of becoming the equivalent of player trades in the States for sports like baseball, nfl and nba. As the financial landscspe for football will be fundamentally changed by what's going on.

I don't think we'll see any sort of dealings until we're out of the woods with Covid 19. How long that will take is anybody's guess.

Thing is there could be a few bargains with some clubs probably need to sell as they are shorter on cash reserves than others.

Ndombele/Arthur swap deal doing the rounds in the press.

Arthur is regarded highly by their fans, but still just can't play more than 60 minutes in a game.

Swap deals never happen, though they might with the coronavirus crisis, but man, both sides are in for a surprise.
