All 3 would be very welcoming signings and allow us to spend whatever money we have on a GK, CB, LB and CM. My only concern is both Willian and Giroud cover the positions Osimhen plays which one would think rules us out of making a move for him.

I'd personally be shocked if we spent big money on a striker while Kane was still here, coronavirus or not.

Spending big money on a striker shouldn't matter if taken into accounts over a 3 year period - if we sell Kane next year, then the cost is basically covered, just deferred.

Big risk on Osimhen. Read they wanted £90m not so long ago. No chance we'll be paying that.

It’s anyone’s guess what will happen with the transfer window but I’m not sure we will go for Giroud again. I think that was a one off January move and also the player fancies going to Italy from what he’s said since January.

Playing the free transfer market well will be key this window. Not sure about Willian but keen for Meunier. I do wonder if Jan may end up signing for one more year now too.

Can’t see us signing a fb or a lb

Think he will go with Dier, Sanchez, Tanganga, and Toby next season at cb.

Lb will be Davies and Sessegnon

Think holding mid will be what we go all out for.

Free transfers mean big wages and big agent fees. Depends on what their options are. I've read stories about Meunier going to Dortmund and I don't think they will pay much more than us. I guess that for Giroud and Willian, we might be the only high profile option.

But all in all, I wouldn't be surprised if, eventually, getting Mounier on a 3-year contract will not be that much cheaper than getting Aarons from Norwich.

Everyone's favorite source... feel free to verify if you'd like.

Can someone say who said what? I am on Twitter but it says the user does not allow anyone to read the tweets.

Meunier and Giroud would be excellent transfers on a free. Starting RB and Back Up Striker who fits the Mourinho profile sorted.
Not so sure about Willian. We should not pick up players that mocked us like idiots back then. We are bigger than them. Then I think I rather keep Lamela/Sissoko/Lucas.

Problem with the free transfers is they could be very much in favour for loads of clubs this summer with lots of teams will find themselves with limited transfer funds with the Corona shit going on.

Meunier as a more reliable RB, offers threat going forward, but more discipline defensively.
Willian as a more consistent RWF, workrate and end product.
Giroud as a genuine CF alternative, one who won’t block Parrott long term.

All on free transfers, sensible business, plus with them coming off contract, they should be free to join July 1st (assuming we’re clear by then), rather than waiting till nearer window closes to do the bulk of our business.

I’d be looking at Kurzawa too as a backup LB on a free. Get 4 problem positions upgraded for no transfer fee outlay (no haggling from Levy). Focus all funds on a genuine starter LCB and also someone to be the midfield general. The squad will look considerably better.

With the likes of Foyth, Carter-Vickers, Rose, Walker-Peters, Aurier potentially leaving, theres a steady amount coming back in. Add to that we could move Lamela or Moura on, what with Willian maybe taking that position, plus Son, Bergwijn and maybe even Eze & Clarke all able to play in the same sort of role.

If, as Ally Gold suggests, there will be little transfer business to be done when the window eventually takes some sort of shape, there may be little point in watching Spurs next season - it'll likely just be a repeat of this one whereby I'd expect us to miss out on a CL spot again. Or could Kane and Son returning propel us to new heights under Mourinho... (rhetorical).

The squad needs major surgery - largely on the incoming side of things. I can't help but play fantasy football to keep hopes alive that we'll see some evolution at Spurs next season.

OUTS
Vertonghen, Vorm, Foyth (£15m?), KWP (£15m), Rose (£10m) and CCV (£8m) need to leave on loans/frees or otherwise.
Lloris has a lot of noise being made about leaving (£15m?).
Sanchez seemingly not too fancied by José but could now stay. Possible (£30-40m?)
Lamela, a name that came up on the loom last summer for transfer - will he stay or will he go? I don't think anyone would want to take a punt on him, and he's got a decent contract with us, not to mention some Argie mates at the club. José likes him.
And if Ndombele stays, that really only leaves us with about £100m incoming from sales.
Maybe Dier goes and Sanchez stays giving us a bit less to play with.

INS
CF - Who we bring in depends on whether Kane is still here. I'd budget £30-40m and I hope it's someone like Mitrovic.
AM - Eze - as we know has been earmarked for transfer to us. £20m
RW - Need Sabitzer (40m) but will most likely end up with Willian on a free.
DM - Kondogbia (£37m reported target price). Alternatively, Hojberg for more like £25m.
RB - Meunier on a free. Aarons wants to wait for Chelsea.
LB - Need Grimaldo (£31m) but Lewis seems most likely bet for around £25m I would have thought.
CB - Need Dias (40m).
GK - Different name linked every week. I'd budget £25m. Hope we steer clear of Onana.

8 players for about £187m - as stated by ITK is what José would like - this is perfectly doable. I can't believe we have no money for transfers whatsoever, but I do expect the market to correct and prices to come down. Still we should be able to find £87m - especially if Kane goes at end of next season for something sizable. If we really are that hard up then sell Clarke, Amos and Ndombele to make up the difference.

But do nothing or very little in the market and there will have been little point in appointing José.

willian wants a three year contract. We would be stupid to do that. A lot of Chelsea fans think he’s fallen off the last year and don’t really rate him now. Also Willian coming here after giving Chelsea his best years and how he went there doesn’t sit right with me.

I haven’t seen anything of Meunier so maybe that might be a good deal. In general though I think we should stay clear of players coming to the latter stages of their career and look to build another young and hungry team. Prices will inevitably come down now anyway so it probably makes financial sense to put the money in younger players and let there valuation increase, same as if the housing market falls, you’re best of buying a doer upper than renting a posh flat because the rents been reduced.

what’s that Warren Buffet quote something like be cautious when everyone else is greedy, but greedy when everyone else is cautious. Levy obviously adheres to the first bit, let’s hope he’s not just cautious no matter what the situation, because that’s not a recipe for success in football. I personally think this could be a great opportunity for us and this is the time we should be buying.

Where have you seen Aaron’s wants Chelsea?
Would seem odd considering they have Reece James who’s similar age and they all seem to rave about him

He's a Chelsea fan and probably hopes they are interested. As you say they have James, how long can Azpilicueta continue, do they need to spend decent money on a backup?

He may need to let head rule heart if other offers come in.

ITK told us he is waiting for Chelsea - who by all accounts don't want him at all.

ITK also told us the Aarons ship has sailed.

Just been reading (in the news now links) that Aarons interest is still there, along with interest in Cucurella.

Let's hope.
