have missed football for its escapism benefits....funnily enough missed non-spurs games more due to the circumstances (other than peak Poch periods my 42+ years of support have always seen match days be a bit stressful)

I haven’t, but have realised that football is one of the few things I can watch without thinking about anything else.

I’d like it back for that alone.

I thought I'd be tearing my hair out! Truth is, football today, hardly at all. Football yesteryear more than ever ( I've been watching Mot 8o's etc).I miss the tantrums that we throw on here more!
I'm starting to secretly hope this will collapse the premiership.

Thought that I would miss football and I did in the first week. but as time has gone on I've not missed it at all.

This is the biggest break I've had for many years.

Normally there's continuous news even in the summer when there's no tournament as there'll only be a short break before the players return for pre-season training and transfer rumours never seem to stop.

If two managers can't get anything of out this defence then that tells you the full story.

Yep, I'd go as far as saying the whole thing needs replacing and starting again (including buying a defensive minded midfielder).

Can't wait until people use this break as some sort of anti rant about our club

We haven't won a match in 12 months blah blah :D

Think I'm drifting away from it. I was sick to death of the greed and all the other shit anyway and not being put in a bad mood by a bunch of preening, spoilt prima donnas each week has been a welcome change.

No. I thought I would, but I don't.

Like others have said, playing footy in lockdown in the garden with my boys is a million times better than watching multi millionaires, most who have no love for Spurs, run around whilst people are paying absolutely ridiculous prices for it.

World cup singles in the garden with a 6 and 8 year old with all of us a different Spurs player gives me all the joy of football I need. The wife joined in yesterday and the boys were calling her Tanguy as she was fucked after 2 minutes!

I hope you sent the boys indoors before that happened!!

Agree.
The squad has been left to slowly rot away.
We had Walker and Trippier at rb. Now we have neither and havent replaced them with equal or better quality
We had Rose with Davies as back up. Now we have Davies, the back up, and who? Sessegnon?
We had Verts and Toby at their peak with Sanchez as back up. Now theyre done and Sanchez imo has not lived up to his early promise. And then there's the defensive midfield where we had Dier and Wanyama. Now we've a past his best Dier and no one else.
We haven't improved in one single area of the pitch in over 4 years.
Dembele gone not replaced as well.
The only player thats looked even remotely close to being capable of getting into our 2016-17 season is Lo Celso.
I must be bored we've been over this 100 times lol.

Watched it all. So, so unlucky in that game. The better side and we had real chances to make it 3-0, and then 3-1 with Mason.

Yea Mason with a decent chance. Would have been 5 points behind Leicester with 2 games to go had we won...

Watched an archived spurs match with this line up

Lloris
Walker Alderweireld Vertonghen Rose
Dier Dembele
Son Eriksen Dele
Kane

For me this was our best ever team Ive seen

Walker sold
Rose out on loan
Vertonghen rapid decline
Dembele sold
Dier hasn't been the same since
Eriksen sold
Dele not playing to that level

Spurs v Leicester from 1975 and away to Middlesbrough in the same year are on The Big Match Revisited (BT Sport 3) this morning, they show three episodes most days from 6am to 9am. Usually it's stuff from the 70's and 80's.

Have started missing it more this past week, once it eventually comes back and we've got a fully fit squad (for the first time in ages) I'll be glad it's back

Yeah I’ve just Prerecorded the ones they’ve got us on over the next week. Did you see which season they started playing the series with? It was the 76/77 season! Thank goodness they’ve now moved on.

Yes, but not as much as I thought I would. Fallen out of love with the national game for quite some time (well England really) but with that being said I still look forward to the Euro's and World Cup just because I like watching the game played well.

I'm not sure why I couldn't give a fuck about the England team anymore, maybe it's that I don't go to the pub to watch their games or that they sometimes seem not to care or just simply the years of hurt and false promise but then that can easily be said about Spurs who are still my first and only love (sad I know).

So yeah, I miss Spurs playing in midweek and weekend, I miss the banter on my phone with friends who support other teams, I miss going to the pub after work to watch Champions League, Europa, Monday Night Football etc.

I haven't touched a drop of alcohol since lockdown, maybe I'm just missing getting pissed...that's easily an experiment I can check tonight!
