Football won't be back for a good long time, Shame pochettino was sacked, this would've gave him the sabbatical he needed

Sadly a sabbatical wouldn't rectify the issues that led to his sacking.

I still don’t think people are getting how much this virus is going to affect us going forward. Football is dead for at least the next 4-6 months. Even behind closed doors you still have the possibility for 28 players running around in close proximity to each other sweat everywhere. China only just easing restrictions for work 4 months after look down. What any FA says publicly will be very different to what is said behind closed doors.

If the antibody tests can work then it will be fine.

How soon till the first club goes bankrupt and all their players become free agents?? That'll put a spanner in the works!

Bournemouth are apparently really struggling. I think the prem club most in danger.

But nobody is talking about missing out on a season.

It is about finishing this one (say behind closed doors finishing say August) so the obligations clubs have already been paid for are met,
Open transfer window from close of this season to opening date of next.
Start next season say October, and adjust the calendar (even potentially scrap the cups), maybe even change the 38 game season, to something less (but obviously agreed by all clubs and broadcasters), even potentially have every match on TV, to placate the broadcasters. and meet the quota.
Could potentially not lose any TV or sponsorship money over either season.
The advice that people need to social distance when ever it's possible is going to be in place for months. Even when things start to return to normallity that rule of thumb should still be followed until a vaccination is readily available.

Is that remotely possible playing football?

They are saying very little at the moment because nothing has been decided, but I know for a fact if the FA and more so EPL try and push this too soon(it's not deemed safe by independent experts) they will 100% put the kybosh on it happening.

The most important thing in these difficult times, that we all must agree upon:

If the season is ended without playing all games and Liverpool are proclaimed champions we must ALL take every opportunity for the next 20 years to tell the scousers that they never REALLY won the league.

They won't be ready for months, that's straight from a scientist working on them.

Two months is what I have heard. From someone who works for a massive medical diagnostics company that is going to be manufacturing them (subject to orders). That means early early to mid June. It could be done in theory. None the less it is a fascinating problem.

Can we change the title of this thread to “Fantasist spouts bollocks on twitter to get attention.”

A scientist working on it was on TV last night and said at least 4 months, it’s not getting an accurate test it making it on massive, basically making millions of tests. While still having to process other results, the pin prick test is already said to be worthless, they need to be processed on a lab.

The thing is all clubs have lost huge revenues, just a fact, nothing can be done, and wont be got back. Cancel/ void season end of and star5 from scratch again..... PFA are hypocrites gordon was on 3M a year in 2015 so assuming thats much more now, are they the PFA be8ng awkward to justify they are doing work to show the should be paid and not take a paycut to contribute to the nhs or something? Or are they trying to be like one of those Refs who wants attention and makes sensational onfield descisions? Whats does seem very clear either way is the fact we have furloughed staff means the club wont be and have excuse to hide behind to not improve the squad whenever a window opens. What we need is that device from Men In Black to delete recent memory and restart new season with Poch refreshed from a long break with his MOJO back ready at the helm hahahaha

Maybe play out the Premier League Schedule behind closed doors?

Can only do that once the hospitals aren't being run off their feet, as need ambulance and staff to attend games for safety. Also needs to be safe enough for players to play.

TV needs the games so sooner or later they will be played behind closed doors. The viewing figures for the first live game be it in England, Spain, Germany or Italy will be immense. Betting on the game will also generate huge sums. Sponsors, whats left of them, will be happy.

Leagues will justify having no fans attend due to social distancing, but will do all they can to justify the leagues being completed. Integrity will be one reason. Contracts and money will be two others.

On a somewhat related note, I hear a club near and dear to our heart has a mandatory media black out. They are leaving the PR limelight, or should I say lowlight, to our club and our chairman. Another London club has taken note.

Seems like theres a target for June 6 with no fans. While extremely unlikely and I am still convinced no sport will return until fall 2021, i’ll indulge mysef with this. We should have Kane, Son and Bergwijn back by then. Start Ndombele and GLC in a 2 with Dele in AM and we should have a decent chance to pip top 4.
