It’s a shame about Kane, if we matched his ambition he could have had a good crack at beating Greaves’ record. Unfortunately, Levy isn’t spending any money anytime soon so what else is Kane supposed to do? Let’s take the world record fee and get a decent sporting director to spend it wisely and start all over again. It hurts that we came so close and some great players never won a trophy for us but it might be time to start a new project. Cheers Harry, you’ll always be a Spurs legend.

Great let’s by a raft of players as we did with the Bale money. That worked famously well

It's a case-by-case thing though isn't it? Liverpool fucked up the Suarez money but took the Coutinho money and turned themselves into the best team in the world.

That being said, I do not trust the current transfer setup to get it right if we do sell Kane. There's absolutely nothing to go on to suggest that the current people involved in our transfers will get it right. We absolutely need a DOF with a proven track-record of identifying talent and building up squads if Kane is to be sold.

Yep it’s not ideal but when a player wants to leave it only ends one way. Basically we’re screwed unless we spend some money to convince him to say... so basically we’re screwed haha.

Harry Kane has spoken to DL, after the THST release. He is itching to be allowed to leave. Not sure DL will allow that. Hugo wants MLS.
My mood was bad enough after last night's result, and now this.

Kane’s reaching for the stars and Lloris for a sun lounger lol

On a serious note, even if Kane went for a world record fee... given the price of players these days it’s only going to plug 3-4 holes in our squad. Without significant investment on top of any potential fee we’re going nowhere.

Levy won't entertain anything other than a world record fee for Kane. As good as Kane is, will any club seriously sanction a move like that for an injury prone 27 year old striker?
Madrid come in with £85m and Kane hands in a transfer request. Let's see what happens

shit

didn't we hear that part of the reason Poch was let go was one indispensable player made clear it was him or Poch?

Ah well. To be honest once the squad conspired to get Poch sacked it was clear the squad itself needed to be dismantled. If this is true then DL should get as much money as he can for Kane and allow Mourinho to build his own squad in his image. And then we see what we will see.

Don't think we've got much choice as long as we don't expect instant results. If Lloris and Kane go then the following is needed without exaggeration.

Keeper
RB
CB (at least one, case for two)
maybe LB
DM
2 strikers

Roughly 7 players i'd say.

We need a dof regardless of if Kane is sold or not. The recruitment has not been good enough and i have no trust that we will be successful in a larger scale rebuild with the current people working behind the scenes.

If Kane is to go, I don't trust the money to be spent effectively and I'd rather start the rebuild with a manager that's going to potentially be here in 5 or so years still working with the players he's picked.

Of course it will be spent effectively.

If we get say £150m, we will spend £30m on a forward, get 3 or 4 £15m punts in, and then spend the rest on building a housing estate

Not surprised in the slightest. He is a fantastic player and deserves to be at a club where he has the opportunity to regularly challenge for the big honours. He is probably looking back at the likes of Berbatov, Modric and Bale and how they've gone on and won things and so justifying their decision to move from us..

Will be turning 27 in the summer and with injuries creeping in, probably realising there's maybe not that much time left to pick up a winners medal or two. We look rudderless and are drifting with no telling when/if we'll be back on course let alone in a position to become serious challengers. Can't blame him for considering his options and no doubt a club or two have been in his ear.

Hugo....accepted it's time to move on from him and would be great if he gets a move to the MLS provided we get in a new no1 ourselves.

He's been a fantastic servant for the club and now deserves his time to shine at the very top. Best of luck to him.

That is an utterly depressing prospect IMO.

Poch’s heart wasn’t in it anymore!
he fell out with players and not talking to them. His moods was very toxic. He was refused the right to speak yanited or RM!

So please stop bleating in about ‘we should of kept Poch’ Jose came into a very toxic club!!!

I am very reliably informed Jose didn’t realise the state of the squad etc when he took the job on. He also was fully convinced we would of bought in a striker on loan in January. Forget his public support of positivity. He feels DL has thrown him under a bus with a wild bunch of cards. There are 4 players who has been playing 40% not fit. Told he feels fans and pundits being unfair. Because when he came he was very adventurous. He is damned if he does, and damned if he doesn’t.

I never really get attached to players and I think our biggest mistakes over the last couple of years is not selling players at the right time. I personally think we’ve seen the best of Kane. Not to say he won’t still be a class player. Maybe it might be the best time to buy.
