I like the cut of your jibs (cuts of your jib? cuts of your jibs?), but there's a flaw in your plans - the need for patience.
Yep, already getting posts from people saying they were willing to give him time, but not now.

Mourinho is only for Mourinho. That is why I don’t like him. He is the biggest ego in every room. He will throw players under the bus and fail to nurture them. He is also very disrespectful to us the fans. I don’t care how many trophies he won, he won them basically by cheating. Financial Dopeing
Talk about a one issue poster.

I think Mourinho complaining in some ways is also negotiating with Levy. Levy is probably always in control of the conversation (it seems he may be like that) and the pressers and interviews are a way for him to get the message across to Levy without an actual confrontation (its a bit early for a real confrontation)
The facts are we do have injuries and Mourinho cannot be blamed for all of that or the balance of what we have in each position

We all would mate, there's no denying that it's not very pretty at the moment.
The only thing I will say here is that nothing worthwhile ever came easy. We went through the same angst when Poch first started and he turned it around. We had the naysayers slating him then until he won them over.

We had some incredible performances under Poch, but sadly never quite got to the promised land. He's gone now though, so it's time to get over him and learn from the reaction when he first started. Many got it wrong then, as time has proven.

You'd think that many would learn to keep their powder dry with regards to Mourinho too.

Sadly they don't seem to be able to get over the fact that he used to manage a team they hate.
It's the style of football more than anything to do with Chelsea.

Its shit.

Never have I said we were not poor for the last 8- 12 months under Poch. But we did at least TRY to take it to the opposition.

11 men behind the ball worrying about what Norwich can do is not what I want to see, and probably many others.
Don't most teams defend with 11 behind the ball?

Are you Paul Merson in disguise?

Why do we need to do that at 0-0 or 1-0 up though.

But anyway, you are going in ignore because you cant have a reasonable debate without getting aggressive or personal.
I'd hardly call that aggressive and if you're offended by being called Paul Merson you'd have fainted with some of the names I got called during the week.

0-0? Depends which game. 1-0 at home against the mighty Norwich, yeh, questionable, how come the 11 on the pitch can't hold out? Third string keeper can't keep them out it seems. That's where people should be aiming their angst ...

Anyway, yeah, I'm offensive.

We have a problem in midfield.
That's the problem.
Winks is limited,Dier is iffy but still defensive,NDombele is half or a quarter of a good player...Lo Celso is great but not created anything yet......
Then Kane Son...etc...
Not fair to blame Mourinho

I mean, you could just support the team.

Culs-de-sac.
And, literally translated, that would be correct. The object is what's pluralised and in that phrase, 'cul' is the object, in the same way that 'cut' is the object in 'cut of your jib' and so that's what's pluralised there. 'Cul-de-sac' literally means 'bottom of the sack'. If you re-arrange the wording to make it less passive, it becomes 'sack bottom' and 'cut of your jib' becomes 'jib cut'. Pluralise those and you end up with 'sack bottoms' and 'jib cuts'. Retranslate and rearrange and you end up with 'culs (bottoms)-de-sac' and 'cuts of your jib'.

It's also why we say 'courts martial' instead of 'court martials'.

Just for you, richie - a little nugget of pointless information to brighten your day.

I'm now off to find a life.

No you don’t. The team consists of everyone from the players to the subs, to the coaches and finally the manager, he’s the leader of the “team.”

He wears the colours same as the players, and he’ll be doing his damndest to make that team successful.

Funny how you weren’t labelling Poch a Southampton slag when he was appointed.

Unlike the free flowing football we saw under Poch right?

That glorious 1 away win in 12 months due to an injury time goal against a shambolic Fulham side or the 1 point/game avarage that would had us relegated had it been over the same season?

So tired of the constant slagging of Mourinho gets.
Should close the thread and reopen around christmas when we have some kind of sample size and Mou have had time to properly form his team. Not to mention having key personal like Kane back.

Metalhead

But that's a debate for another thread.....

Mourinho may well have a big ego but personally I couldn't care less if he is successful - ideally yes, he would be humble but that's the way that he projects himself. It doesn't bother me as I will never meet the guy,

If he does throw players under the bus and fails to nurture them then he will be judged accordingly but you are making assumptions at this stage. If a player fails to show the right attitude then they will get pulled up on it - most, if not all managers will do the same.

Disrespectful to us fans - haven't seen it since he took over but again, we will see.

I don't care how many trophies he has won, he won them basically by cheating - ok so any manager who has had a lot of funds cheated their way to trophies. Money doesn't guarantee trophies - it certainly helps but his trophy haul is beyond criticism IMO. He even won the UEFA cup and CL with Porto without having lots of money to spend.

Clearly you don't like him, you have not been willing to give him a clean slate and to be honest, you are likely only going to get yourself more and more wound up hoping that your own club is not successful so he gets sacked.

I don't understand the argument that it's OK that we are playing dull tedious football because that's what Poch served up at the end? Surely that's at least partly why we changed manager?

Who's saying its OK?
Everyone wants to see an improvement, but some aren't crying about having to wait to see it.

I love the way some people accuse Jose of being a cheat became he wins trophies lot's of them, but does that make poch a fraud because he doesn't win anything it's complete bollocks.
The club has hired a winning manager so levy and co need to support him with decent funds and let him try and win otherwise what was the point of hiring.

Not one person has said it’s ok. Not one.

Plenty of reasons have been given for the why though.
