Most (not all) of the players have are good enough IMO, the problem is the players we don't have. If we'd had a capable DM, pacey fullbacks capable of defending pacey attackers, or a second-choice striker then today would have been a fundamentally different match. We've got quality players but the squad as a whole is lacking in key areas.

if we had those players we might of still had Poch

Just losing our last 3 straight games is hard to take, hopefully just a blip.
Also since Son has been out.

We've lost Son, Eriksen and Kane in the first 4-5 weeks of this year. That's the lifeblood of our attack for the last couple of years vanished from our ability to use them. Naturally we will see steps back like any team would losing those guys all at once,

I think everyone can now see the squad we have just isn't good enough.

Toby and Jan haven't been leaders at all both should be shown the door imo.

Levy for all the fantastic work his done in building the infustructure of the club, he has shamefully taken his eyes off the squad. This should of been the season we went all out in the transfer market with the last manager.

We haggled waited loaned failed to shift players offer contracts get strikers or full backs. The joke of it all is we will now need to spend more money. As a business man if your product isn't good ( playing squad) you will lose out.

What concerns me is that when I watch us play apart from having no system in place the team compared to every side we face play with diving boots on, that is the comparison that I can come up with in regards to how slow and out manovered we get.

In the first half we clearly had a system in place and it was working. Dier played well commanding the defence but it all went a bit Pete tong when Ali’s wonderful header didn’t go in to make it 3-1 to us.

pretty hard to disagree with the majority if not all of what jenas has said
Was just about to share the same link. He seems to be more 'reasonable' than myself on giving Mourinho time but he is absolutely bang on with his assessment.

I don't know about that after we went a goal up I thought they looked a constant threat and if Mr muscles had an end product we could of lost by more.

There are a few things have to be taken into account and some that im hoping come to fruition regarding the summer.

Poch was the one that expressed the reality of a 'painful rebuild', therefore he was of the opinion that the squad wasn't good enough, even when he was there. Mourinho inherited the same squad and has mostly improved on the trajectory that we were on.

There has been, in some cases justified criticism of the style of football, but that is largely from those with an anti Jose agenda. People seem to have short memories when it comes to performances. Brighton, Watford, Newcastle seem to be forgotten not to mention Colchester or the Bayern debacle. At least results have picked up, and unfortunately thats more important than 'the process' as 'the process' cant begin until Jose has the chance to build his own squad of players and instill his own playing style accordingly.

As for my hopes, I'd like to think that considering the position we were in when Jose took over, levy had promised him funds in the summer, whatever the outcome of the season. I simply cant fathom that Jose wont be backed heavily, especially with the number of players you'd expect to leave the club.

Time will tell, the next month at least is going to be a rough one but adjust your expectations accordingly and hopefully we'll all get through this.

One thing that has struck me, is that the manager is largely irrelevant with Tottenham Hotspur football club. We constantly find ways, of varying degree, to let you down or the universe finds a way to fuck us over. But thats a thread in itself...

We were playing poor football the year building up to Mourinho. Is it the manager or the players one needs to ask themselves before asking that kinda question. Jose has had one window and 3-4 months at the club. The nucleus of players at his disposal when nearly a year without winning an away game in the PL, we need to remember that whenntearing the manager we currently have to pieces.

The football wasn’t great I agree but it has got undoubtedly worse and the results no better. Do you think we have a chance to get to a final this year for example ?
We got rid of Poch on the back of those performances on the promises of top 4 and trophies. Mourinho isn’t a long term build manager , he won’t be here for 3/4 seasons. He is one of the most expensive managers in the world and the narrative has changed from a few players here and there (loves to work with these players) to a whole rebuild job job and the football will get no better under him whatever happens.

Bleh... it didn't work out, but at least Jose has the balls to change things, and try different things. Every lineup is fascinating.

Also, Jose isn't proud enough to turn his nose up at a trophy, just because it doesn't come with a big cash reward. If we're in Europa, he'll want to try and win that.

There's two months left of the season. We just need to suck it up.

way we are playing now actually reminds me of how we were under sherwood.
Nobody knows what their role is.

We are relying on 1-1 individual brilliance to break down the defence.
No attack, and dreadful defending.
A piss poor attempt at a press that seems to never threaten the opposition.
Sideways passing, making the windbacks the facilitators of all offensive movement.

Gotta ask, why do you always have a dig at the new stadium? We had an old stadium once and we were just as shit, what's the fucking point in having a dig at something that will be for all Spurs fans, whether you like Levy or not? It just seems like a proper bitter thing to say ...

Some fans are so fucking weird on certain things.
It's obviously a dig at the levy lovers who our happy to put up with any ball he drops because we have a new stadium.

Really didn't want Mourinho in and definitely didn't want to see Poch go. As far as I'm concerned Mourinho has a free pass until he has the players he actually needs to play how he wants.

Actually results improved vastly - and it's not an opinion, it's a fact - until both Kane and Son got sidelined simultaneously.

The quote was the last year. We got into the CL last year, we haven’t got a hope this year. Plus the football has got worse, the vast majority would agree.
