Has he? He has stuck by his players and also, supposedly to the delight of our own, made sure he has highlighted when our own players are performing poorly ... Off the rails? Hyperbole.

If you think publicly labelling his striker selections as guns without bullets is sticking by his players, for example, then you might be right

yeah spot on

You’ve not lived until you’ve windmilled yourself out of trouble at Croydon station after dark
Ha, I spent a good period of my childhood hanging around in Croydon, after school on a Thursday night - late night shopping night.
My tactic was more running away but I was like 12 or 13 at the time!

Oh come on man don’t act like hearing that commentary doesn’t send shivers down your spine. Whatever clearly trophies are all that matters you to you which is fair enough.

Just find it funny how all of the fans of other teams that ridiculed us with the what have you won bollocks all wanted Poch the moment we sacked him.
No the issue I have is making it a binary choice between either winning trophies playing 'shit' football or playing 'attractive' football and yield diddly squat!

We absolutely need to underline the undeniable growth of our club in the last 10 years with trophies - that has to be the priority for me and nobody has a better resume than Jose to ultimately deliver this.

More the fact he came out after Saturdays game and opened and closed the presser by saying his players are giving him and the team everything they have got and he can't ask more from them.

Yeah, spot on.

 Fuck me sideways...So you actually prefer losing to winning, you are exactly what's wrong with this club, the kind of complacency which has given us the Spursy tag.

Did you prefer George Graham and Juande Ramos to Pochettino then? (Asking for a friend).

I don't know why people have to be so entrenched in a side of every facet of debate. You can have liked Poch and the football we played and not wanted him to get the sack and still support Jose as the new guy through the door and be excited to have a person who has been be successful at the biggest clubs in world football. playing entertaining football in the grand scheme of things can be more important to you than winning trophies whilst still appreciating we need results in the short term and also revel in us actually winning trophies when the time comes even if it means not playing football to your tastes. You can acknowledge that the quarter finals and semi finals were incredible moments and some of the best nights to be a spurs fan even if it ultimately didn't end up in a trophy. You don't actually have to pick a side of the argument, you can acknowledge the merits of both sides and appreciate both.

Plus when you acknowledge both sides you get the added benefit of coming central which means there's even more people you can have a pointless argument with as both sides have a bone to pick with you.

Most Chelsea fans I know still talk very favourably about Mourinho.
To be honest, most united fans have come round to the fact that he wasn't actually as bad as they thought at the time. They've come round to the fact that both he and the club, are badly hamstrung by Woodward.
One guy I know couldn't stand Mourinho during his time at United but even he grudgingly accepts now, that he may have been wrong.
They were still singing songs about him even with Ole at the wheel.

Although my brother did say the football was bad for a long time. But I'm pretty sure it turned sour the minute he tried to get Pogba to play as part of the system and not have the free role his ego requires. Martial also got stroppy because he wanted to play central, so too did Rashford. When Rashford was benched because his performances dropped due to him wanting to play central, despite Lukaku scoring plenty anyway, the fans got on his back about it. Then Bailly kept getting injured and because of this he cried out for a new CB, realising Jones and Smalling couldn't be trusted, and Woodward refused - only to spend 80m on Maguire a year later.

Jose isn't the type to stay silent and play to the tune if he thinks he's being hard done by, which makes people dislike him more.

However, Ole has faced the same issues with Woodward, yet because he's singing along with the club and being quiet about it, the fans are happy with him.

It's also important to note that Ole has zero expectations other than get back into CL. Whereas Jose was expected to return United to the glory days. Therefore if Jose had been silent about it, the fans would have still got on his back regardless.

The question for us will be - will Levy do everything he can to keep Jose happy in this respect? And will Jose continue to accept we can't spend 60m+ on every signing?
I think that if they reach a happy medium and Jose can just focus on tactical/technical aspects and less so on players we really need then he'll be able to give his best.

But if he tells Levy he needs a DM/CB/ATT and RB and Levy only secures two of these, it won't be long before he starts to sing.

There aren't many of these people about, I've tried, I've admitted, I even shouted about baldy once to back Poch - this drew the ire of many, there is no middle, that's false, pick a side and start windmilling (yeah I know what you're thinking, it crossed my mind too but it turns out they mean with your fists)

Oh shit! Was that what @doctor stefan Freud meant, not his fists?!
In which case, I may have well run away from him at Croydon Station! :nailbiting:

This is what I mean, you get more people to argue with, I've been called a Levy Apologist and entitled **** for not appreciating levy in the same day . I love a good debate as much as the next man but when you can't acknowledge the other side, listen and be open to changing your opinion then what's the point on being here other than to pursue a narcissistic endeavour of trying to force people to see everything your way.

Proper playground stuff :ROFLMAO:

He's won 3 out of last 4 in the league, got us up to 5th from 12th, still in the CL and FA Cup...so yeah I suppose you could say he's winning.

How did we used to maintain 70% possession in endless games with exactly those players, Dier and CBs.

Dont make me laugh, There are a dozen teams in the division who manage to play a decent progressive passing game with players half as talented.

These attempts at justifying our weird hide behind the sofa tactics (oooooo look its scary Norwich and southampton.) are getting increasingly bizarre. All of a sudden our best tactic is to hoof it long every time because every player in our first team is a leaden footed half wit incapable of playing a passing game? OuR SqUads The WorSted SquAd EvA! Its like everyone has lost their mind over a couple injuries (we played not unlike this with Kane and definitely whilst we had Son)

Literally picking a team of internationals and brought 5 ball players in the last 2 windows and yet we cant risk trying to play a bit...

I have no idea and you ask a valid question that everyone of us wants an answer to: how come all of a sudden so many of our players went backwards.

But the fact of the matter is those players do look uncomfy on the ball, at least for this season. Dier, CBs, FBs. Do you dispute that?

Given that, it's better to hoof the ball away.

So what other clubs supporters think is the most important thing to you? I couldn’t give a fuck what they think of us to be honest.

All the but what have you won shit was just jealousy. If we had won something they would have found a way to belittle it.

I loved Harry Rednapp and Poch and BMJ because they knew how we want our football played. With or without trophies it was entertaining. It’s about moments, bale in Milan, the miracle in Amsterdam. Those are what I’ll tell me grandkids about. Not winning the fa cup by a sea walker own goal.... I would actually say the semi was more memorable to be honest and we didn’t win a trophy for that.

There is a bedding-in period for most managers and currently, we are not only bedding in a new manager but half a new team.

How scintillating was our football on the whole first season with Poch? I know friends of mine questioned his appointment in spells that first year even boos from fans at times.

Lets just give it a second.

Yeah it wasn’t scintillating at first but the signs were there plus we knew how he played with Southampton and in the end he had us playing that way too.

Jose always plays this way and always has. United chanting attack attack attack every game. Nothing is giving me any confidence that with us will be any different.
