Mourinho’s tactics are out of date. His football is stale. We sacked a manager who got us to a Champions League final for this style of football. Jose out. Enic out. Levy out. That is what is best for Spurs.

I fully appreciate everyone should have their own opinion but I struggle with those tripping over each other to make excuses for Jose recently. Yes its not 'his team', yes he doesn't have a recognised top CF but Jesus Christ this is awful to watch. Not just aesthetically but energy, heart, fight... to me its just not what it should be.

Yes we've had a few good results under Jose but my God some luck as well as well. In the first weeks we were winning crazy games where we had to score 3/4 to win. Wolves battered us but we scrapped a win. City (lets be honest) battered us but we hung in there and got a win. Norwich/Soton away we were woeful. Chelsea, Liverpool, Leipzig at home we set up like a minnow team away from home. Today we set up not to concede from the start but still gave them 17 shots on target..!

Give him time for sure as what choice do we have but can we please at least acknowledge we've been pretty turgid under Jose, he's not proven himself yet and this is not what "To Dare is to Do" is about.

Edit: God that feels better

Do you think another manager would be getting better performances out of this group of players

considering Poch was getting similar actually worse when we had H and Son fit the common denominator would seem to be the players and not the manager to me!

We stood still. The rest of the league didn’t

as simple as that

That’s on Levy - Mourinho could do a bit better with this squad but some massive structural deficiencies and flaws

He finally picks a decent midfield then takes Alli out to play a flat 5 at the back. When anyone looks to play forward, they will see something like 3 v 6. For the second game
So hard to say if it was the wrong appointment. Initially there were promising signs and he closed a 12 point gap to 1(now4) pts from 4th then Kane and son happened BUT the constant has been the style of football and I can’t see how it’s going to be successful as it doesn’t suit our players, I also now hate watching it as we skip out the midfield and I think most fans are also becoming disillusioned by it.

Like you say the real worry is that we baxk him with big money this summer have a shit start to the season have to sack him and the rinse and repeat... fingers crossed Jose still has some magic but no striker aside our lack of actually playing football makes me quite concerned now.
Levy has an interesting 5-6 months ahead. Does he admit early on that Mourinho was the wrong appointment, fall on his sword and sack him at the end of the season, or does he back him, as you say and hope that there is a mark improvement in the style of play next season.. I suspect he'll opt for the later, but again, if we see no improvement this time next year we could be at a monumentos crossroads

My patience with Mourinho has gone already. He has had bad luck with injuries but he’s had plenty of luck getting results from games where we were comfortably second best. Ultimately I just hate his brand of football. Leipzig was the perfect example - a good atmosphere before the game - everyone’s had a few drinks - home champions league knockout game against a team we are more than capable of beating and Mourinho’s passive conservative tactics killed the atmosphere within 5mins. Even if we somehow get a result against teams, (Villa, Southampton, etc) it’s awful to watch - getting outplayed by Villa... what is to enjoy? I know Poch had a poor second half of last season and start to this but for me he had more than earnt the right to be given more time and more signings to turn things around - it’s so sad to think Poch is gone and will, I am sure, be a success wherever he ends up, whilst we are left to watch atmosphere and confidence-killing Mourinho-ball. What concerns me is there is no way our players will be enjoying playing this football - Alli’s reaction on Weds said it all for me - we have so little of the ball and so little ambition that our good players have no opportunity to shine. Lo Celso - he can’t be enjoying playing like this... the players will get frustrated and want out if we wait too long to get rid of JM. Why is he talking down Moura and Parrott when we most need them? To protect himself. Typical JM. Poch would never have done that. He would have got a tune out of them, I’m sure. The Players let Poch down and now they are paying for it. Levy has generally been great for the club but he got this one badly wrong. I would have Poch back in a heartbeat (and I bet the players would) but assuming that’s never going to happen I would cut our losses with JM now and bring in a young progressive coach and get the feelgood feeling back. To dare is to do... Mourinho-ball couldn’t me more the antithesis to that. It was never going to be a good fit. A manager who plays awful football and spends big but wins trophy at a club that doesn’t tend to spend big, doesn’t win a lot of trophies but has a fan base that accepts that if they are entertained and we take the game to the opposition. It’s such a shame.
To dare is to do and thrill but to profit is even better.

Seeing our lack of passion and fight in a London derby, not going for it, is the first time I have ever felt any disquiet about Jose's appointment. Which his post match Interview did nothing to dispel.

It’s happening - the football is so bad that the reasonable results can’t offset it. I already can’t see a way JM turns sentiment around before the end of the season - he won’t change his style and we don’t have the fire power now to play poorly and win. The majority of fans will want him out by the end of the season, in certain of it.

i Said it before we got him that JM was not the right man in fact almost the opposite of what we needed. Managers like the Leipzig coach show how today you need to be adventurous. Certainly also he has the Poch philosophy good young players. Poch knew certain players were past it but we failed to make suitable purchases until the last few players ... then get rid of Poch instead of going through with a rebuild and giving Poch the rest of this season. I am convinced we would be at least where we are now if we had made no management changes.

However as much as I don’t like Mourinho’s style of football whilst he is our manager I route for him to win. He won’t be here long whatever happens and we have put up with decades of this mediocre stuff before.

Poch was a lucky appointment but JM is more like the usual DL choice ... see Ramos, AVB etc. Maybe JM will be lucky and the other teams will continue to be as bad as us

And people believe he was fine without getting a striker in January...
I think he basically was given the choice between Bergwijn and a not-very-good striker and was OK with Berg. Had the Son injury already happened would have been a different story.

I think he didn’t kick up an enormous fuss because he would have known when taking the job how much was/wasn’t available to spend in Jan. Unfortunately he found out that the squad was weaker than he had assumed with multiple players (Dier, Jan) unable to get back to their best, and the injuries icing on a shit cake.

But I thought we were informed that Jose was developing a radical new system of playing it looks as if levy has been hoodwinked :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

It’s pretty easy to predict the future here. We fail to get CL, so the transfer kitty reduces. Jose starts saying he can’t compete with teams with bigger squads without lots of signings. Toxicity sets in and the football is beyond mind-numbing and he’s gone by Xmas.

I care if we win or lose and really care if we win or lose with style but i care more about winning - but this is turgid turgid stuff.

I appreciate there is no striker but come on there isnt really much improvement on the pitch. We got a few scrappy wins and im all for that but that only ever lasts so long. Lets forget the attack for a moment and even the creativity, I just dont see much improvement defensively.

I mentioned in the Arsenal thread that I see what Arteta is doing and he is improving them and whilst not perfect it is a work in progress. I genuinely dont see what we are trying to do and where the progression being made.

Jose mentioned that int he year he was out he learnt a lot - not really dude and he got in Joao but dont think he is being allowed to have his influence because all this is Jose.

Ill give him time of course but there needs to be signs... I do feel sorry that the two strikers are out but even with Kane and Son we were still shit in games.

Nagelsmann was my first choice if we were goign to get rid of Poch, id drop 15m a year on him

I don't get this dislike of Mourinho, he's doing the best anyone can with a depleted squad with clear and obvious weaknesses due to the lack of investment in the last 3 years. He is no fool and has built his great teams on a strong spine, 2 new full backs, a centre half, a defensive midfielder and suitable competition for kane and under Jose we can challenge for the title next season. It is all really down to owners whether they want that or not.

This time next year we will be millionaires yes I have heard it all before mate Jose is a great manager but we will not be playing like Liverpool next year, with no European football next year his kitty will be greatly reduced and we will struggle to recruit.

And Levy has to tighten the belt further as whatever money available will be paid to Maureen as recompense for dismissal.

No, he’s made you believe that that this is the best that can be done with a depleted squad. We’ve got three injuries. Alright, two of them are our biggest goal scorers, but we have a lot of fit players.

He’s got the fan base convinced the only way to approach matches is sitting there deep as hell, passively waiting to be fucked by any team we play. It’s bullshit. You haven’t got goal scorers? OK, be proactive and manufacture turnovers. Control midfield. There are lots of ways we could play.

I completely buy in that he's hamstrung with injuries etc, but there does come a point where you just have to come to terms with it.

City have played without Aguero or Jesus before. If I were Jose I'd secretly be watching tapes of teams playing with a false 9 instead of trying to convert bergwijn and Lucas to strikers.

With Alli, Lucas, Lo Celso, Berwijn, Lamela and Sessegnon there is enough there to sort something.

If we don't we have 3 months of 'I don't have any strikers' after every loss

Not to mention the fact we didn't sign a striker in January was absolutely criminal

Which is why he should go if there’s no improvement in performance by the end of the season. IMO.
