What baffles me the most is not how badly we played but the fact that Levy attends the games and can't see how badly we need players

Edit: Rating......Levy -0

How the fuck is any manager supposed to line up with this squad with no striker?

The team below beat chelsea 1-3 at standford bridge on 8 April 2018 after going behind with no striker and had 52% of the possession
In my view we losing matches in midfield because we are being dominated by nearly every team.

Mousa Dembele was crucial to the way we played linking the team and keeping the ball
  • 1Lloris
  • 2Trippier
  • 6D Sánchez
  • 5Vertonghen
  • 33Davies
  • 15Dier
  • 19Dembélé
  • 11Lamela
  • 20Alli
  • 23Eriksen

Sooner Sanchez and Tanganga form the basis of our defence the better - Toby and Verts looked past it against a 33 year old Giroud.

No chance of top 4 this season now really so best to use it to try out new players, maybe blood in Sessegnon, Parrot, Tangana, and to get Ndombele playing regularly.

Few signings in the summer and we'll be fine but this season is a bit of a game of damage limitation now.

We could have gotten Haaland instead we have no one. Thanks bald ****. Why don't you give yourself a payrise.
We couldn't. Haaland was only ever going to one place. If not, then every football club in the world missed out on him, we are hardly alone. And besides, had we signed Haaland he inevitably would've been shit. So drop this nonsense.

We should have signed a striker, yes, but all those available looked pretty rubbish. Bit of a perfect storm we find ourselves in.

We have a decent amount of technical players mainly possession based we need to provide a better platform for them to perform and score goals.

I will do my best to give Mourinho a chance but he will be questioned continually when the football is back dated.

Dave MOTM. Thought his season for the most part has been up rather than down. Silver linings an all that.

100% this.
Al our problems stem from our dreadful non-existent midfield nowadays, (really can only think of 2 games this season where we have been the better team in the middle of the park), plus losing our best player who ran that game Eriksen, and not starting player with whom he had great partnership with, who scored the other 2 Dele.

It is not that we have no strikers, it is that we are being inflexible with the way we are setting up that is the issue.
We set up today to park the bus, only we brought a Peugeot 206 rather a bus.

I feel like Gio can replace Eriksen in time so not overly worried there. It’s the Moussa replacement we sorely miss.

I quite like that Lo Celso got spiteful. Fuck Azpilicueta, he’s a scumbag piece of shit.

Apart from that, I like your ratings

I like his aggression but had VAR not cocked up he would have been sent off and received a 3 match ban and then our season would have gone from bad to worse.

Gio is decent. Nowhere near the player Eriksen was
Haven’t replaced Walker let alone Tripps!
Haven’t got any cover for Kane
Haven't replaced Dembele

Need to replace Rose
Need to replace Dier
Need to replace Wanyama
Need to replace Jan
Toby has lost half a yard

Preying Tanganga is an answer
Preying our record signing can acclimatise

It’s going to be painful and the club needs to be brave!! (Sure I’ve heard that before!)

Well, it’s early days for Gio. Eriksen wasn’t great when he first turned up, and he was fucking shit for the last year, but in between he was absolute class. Far too early to say Gio is nowhere near the player Eriksen was for us. He might be better?

It’ll be painful if the club isn’t brave in the market. It won’t be painful due to saying goodbye to those not good enough ( Jan will be tough, his body is simply done though )

If Jose doesn’t get what he wants in the summer we may as well offer him a mutual termination. Will be interesting to see what happens and what sort of promises he’s been made.

Vertonghen had a poor game. He has been a great player for us, but with 3 months on his contract it is hardly surprising he has lost motivation. He should he just getting substitute appearances now at best and not in the key fixtures.
But Mourinho sent a clear message for who he blamed for the defeat - Alderweireld. Had a good game otherwise, but made Giroud look world class for the goal.
Ndombele looks a luxury.

Note we were totally inert when we had a bit of possession towards the end of game. (Own goal aside!) The only weapon we have is pace. There is no alternative to how we are playing.
