Lol who woulda thunk starting the season with only Kane as an experience out and out centre forward would be a bad thing eh...

Levy and Poch have a lot to answer for in relation to our player recruitment...

Absolutely ridiculous situation to be in, although I guess as Moura has tended to be the central one it means Bergwijn can continue on left side (thank god we actually got him!) and we just need someone for right side now, Lamela would be best bet if he could actually stay fit or maybe Dele will either be pushed wide right or as a false 9.

Imagine if Moura gets injured now, talk about an unbalanced squad...

It's a massive blow but our two lineups against Ajax last year were also pretty lacking and we made it through.

Leg 2:

Our most likely line up for tomorrow is the below, which I don't think is worse than above. We'll surely have to ride our luck, but that's fine.

Really? There wasn't a single striker in world football we could have got in to do a decent job of holding up the ball and getting on the end of a few chances?

No one was expecting a Kane or Son replacement.
That’s not what I’m saying. The people going on about ‘season over’ ‘fuck levy’ etc, would still be doing that whether we’d have signed some donkey or not

Had Steve played upfront in the past at PSV?

Yes he has, but Jose said he doesn't see him in that role for us. He might have to change his mind now though.

Love this from Mourinho though:

Now we have two options. To fall and die because it’s the fourth floor. The other is to climb. We will be on that balcony fighting with everything we have. There is only one possibility. No strikers, no market, no players nothing. The only help now is our crowd. The Tottenham supporters. That’s the only thing I ask because I can’t ask any more from the players that they’re giving. which is everything they have.”

I'm up for playing a game or two, but I can't make the Champions League games because I've got chess club.

Had Steve played upfront in the past at PSV?

He played there most of this season, due to injuries to other players.

He didn’t get good reviews in that role from PSV fans. It’s not his position but he can obviously try to do a job.

To me, the only option is to play Dele central with Lucas and Bergwijn playing off him.

Jose is 100% trying to great a siege mentality - that everything is against us.

It’s also his way of taking all the pressure of those players that come in.

I would bet any money that Son will play again within 4 weeks.

Regardless of if son is out for a short or long period a club that has just reached a CL final and has been a regular competitor within the competition and top four battles should not be in the situation that we find ourselves.

Yeah, it's a bummer, as any injury to a first teamer is but we'll survive.
We've got decent enough players and with Gedson, Ndombele, Sessegnon, Bergwijn and Parrott, we've got enough to shuffle things and make do.

Succeeding against the odds makes it so much sweeter.
