I'm gonna stick my neck out here and say that Dele didn't intend his comments to be taken as racist. Yes, they were kinda racist but I don't think he intended it.

And Son is his best mate in the squad so he'd be mortified to think that he's offended him.

I am an Asian and I find your "kick him out of the first team for a year or 2" suggestion unreasonable. Fine and prehaps 3 matches ban is enough for me. I know his apology could be cheap but he did apologize immediately. It is not the case that he refused to apologize and keep saying bad things

As far as I can work out he insinuated that an Asian guy at the airport might have the coronavirus, with the context of the joke that he himself was fully prepared as he had antibacterial hand gel? Was that it? All he has shown is ignorance which he promptly apologised for.

He made a cheap racist joke in private and is now being chastised for it. It is his fault for being naive in this situation by trusting the wrong people. He has apologised and that's it. What more can he do?

I think we all know the intention behind it besides it's not you're right to call out what is and what isn't offensive if it doesn't effect you.

Anyway silly joke, he apologised and now we can move on.
