I agree but playing like that you would end up losing more than you win. Thats the problem. It puts pressure on our defense. It exhausts the players i think. We wont have teams missing chances and we wont have teams going down to 10. Its proper chaotic at the moment.

Man C are probably one of the top 3 teams in the world at retaining possession. I don't expect us to play like that against the majority of other teams in the prem. However you don't really have much choice against City, especially without our best striker to hold the ball up.

I think in time with a settled Ndombele and Lo Celso we'll be able to go toe to toe with them in midfield. But that time isn't right now.

The break happens because of son's foul. He gets his studs caught into the ground and collides with Aurier.

Son was never going to win the ball from where he was. He doesn't slide in, Gomes doesn't break his leg.

To me they were 2 different challenges that aren't comparable. The ball was there for Sterling to win.

A red card isn’t the END of the World. Lot’s of players Get it all the time. Sterling should take the consequences of where his studs ended up, at that speed with a straight leg.

He could (should) get a red, Dele could be out of a job...

I think what many forget is how long Pep has had his players & has been coaching them. I mean if Jose had our players for 3 or 4 years then maybe the criticism would be justified, but considering how long he's had I didn't expect anything better or different & we did better than expected.

Everyone's welcome, even the French.

I don't think you'd like any mention of strange concepts like 'possession football'. I do promise not to use xG stats though.

However I do have to divulge that I have before attended an MK Dons match, at Stadium MK, and in the hospitality section at that. I think that will earn a lifetime ban from your club president @scat1620 ........

I was a fan of Dembele. But while he started many attacks his creative output wasn't especially good,Hardly any telling passes to speak of.
Ndombele is totally different. Hit a beauty pass for Son in this one in the CM position despite a host of attacking midfielders.
Dembele was a stalwart Im not blaming Dembele but rather Poch for being stuck more on the press than any creativity. Look to Klopp for balancing the press with creativity as they have both.
This is just completely wrong. Did we lack creativity when we scored 86 Premier League goals in 2016-17? Dembele’s job was to initiate attacks and he was phenomenal at it. Just like Modric, who had only 17 assists in 127 league games for Spurs. Our biggest flaw in the last 12 months is we haven’t been able to play through the press and that’s because we hadn’t replaced Dembele. I think a 3 of Winks, Ndombele and Lo Celso can do it until we get a proper DM in

Not a red card for Sterling.
Wasn't a dive from Sterling, but also wasn't a pen.
Jenas actually said ‘Sterling has to go down there and ask the question’ then proceeds to say it was the right decision. Er Jermaine, that’s what a dive is. His fall wasn’t natural (if you are tripped you don’t fall onto your knees with an upright torso). It was a dive

Modric often made the pass for the assist (the assist for the assist, if you will). I think GLC looks like he'll do the same.

As I said I did like Dembele but not for his creativity. I think though our creativity came from the press when the field opens up. I doidnt see Dembele actually opening up space like NDombele might. NDombele does it from his vision. Dembeles vision as more conservative with his ball retention and short passes. Its a prodding game but when the press was on we did look more dynamic in attack when the ball turned around. Its a different kind of game and not one as much as I enjoy with NDombele or any players that open the field up with their own ingenuity. But you see it differently I can understand that. While you have your own idea you don't have the asbsolute truth on what creativity is

I think Ndombele could be great and I love his drive and close control. But I think you are missing the point with Dembele - his skill was to receive the ball with 3 people draped all over him and emerge moving upfield with the ball. He didn’t need to play a killer pass because he’d already created the opportunity by taking multiple players out of the game. A simple ball to one our attacking players was plenty

I don't think Sterling should have been booked for simulation, having watched it countless times I am relieved they didn't give a second penatly but they could well have. It was so close to call and I don't think you can send a player off in a situation like that. It was not clear enough to be a penalty but that doesn't immediately mean it was a blatant dive.

With the foul on Dele, I am confused. All the punters I have heard talk about there being no intent to harm, but I was under the impression that intent no longer has anything to do with it. He clearly endangered the player and VAR have given so many less obvious reds. It is just way too inconsistent
