Speculative reports that were fueled by the fact Mourinho was giving GLC 2 minute sub cameos. Safe to say that GLC has won over Mourinho.

No, one ITK mentioned it too. That's why several of us got worried for real.

But Mourinho made sure every time he talked about him this last couple of weeks that it was not the case

Thought he was decent today but some of the praise has been a little OTT. He was no better then Winks and Ndombele arguably stood out more in his 20 mins. Not bashing him, think he has been good in last couple of games

He was good for the most part, like Winks. Started to get mugged in possession as the game wore on, mental fatigue perhaps?

Very good in tight spaces, the amount of situations he cleared up with his composure and simplicity around our box really stood out for me today.

Just as well looking at those pictures of his girlfriend further up the thread. ?

Christian Eriksen was one of the best footballers who ever played for this club. Some people seem to be forgetting how good the lad was.
That said, the King is dead, long live the King.

Very modric like, held into the ball well
Where does n dombele fit in

He'll be right next to him in front of a DM, probably Winks out of necessity.

----------- Winks -------------
Ndombele ------- Lo Celso
- Bergwijn - Son - Moura -

Something like that. Ndombele and Lo Celso hopefully feeding through balls to our quick forwards, very much like how Liverpool play, minus the bombarding fullbacks since we are electing to play with a "sitting fullback" with a more forward option.

I agree this is the way forward but there is a big Dele Alli shaped elephant in the room stopping it happening.

So he has turned out to be a completely different player to what I was expecting. Having seen only YouTube videos and read reports, I thought we would be getting a full on attacking midfielder who would routinely score.

However, what we have actually got is even better. He is tenacious, clever on the ball, hard working and just seems to be a true CM in a 2. He keeps us ticking over consistently with his first time passing to players in space. Excellent player and I’m more confident in us as a team the moment I see his name in the starting lineup.

He would actually be at his very best if we play a proper midfield 3, where Lo Celso shares offensive and defensive duties with Ndombele, with a DM holding behind them. This would unlock his full potential and range of attributes.

Very good against City again, him and Winks together gave us very stable and good midfield.

It's early days but he has all the vision and passing range of Eriksen, but add to that his willingness to get stuck in.

Fingers crossed that is the benchmark.
Tbh some of the passes Gio is capable of I haven't seen from Eriksen.
