Well, United have got Ighalo over the line. He might turn out to be shite but they've filled a hole that needed filling and he's only on a loan with no option to buy.

I'm usually pro Enic and Levy and this window couldn't be called a disaster, we shipped out some deadwood and made 2 potentially excellent signings. But you can't tell me there isn't a single available striker in world football who would be an improvement on Lucas ghosting through 90 minutes. It's rubbish to be honest.

Not a great window but an ok one. Looking at our current squad and where we are atm it will take a world class manager to get us into the top 4 and win us a trophy this season. Over to you Jose.

shame he’ll need to be quarantined for 2 weeks or give the United players the virus and there season implodes either way win win

Hopefully Hercs comments that Jose has a new style of play and new tactics will mean we won’t need to rely on a ‘target’ man...?

Jose is happy. As he said, he wanted a striker but not any old donkey for any old Dollar. There is a very good allocation of funds for the summer and we have already held talks with targets and it’s looking very good. Jose was offered Piatek permanently (22m) by Levy but said he didn’t want to pay that as wasn’t sure he was worth that. He would have taken a loan with option to get a better look at him but we couldn’t agree with Milan and then Hertha Berlin took the punt just as I thought Milan would give way. He believes he can get a better striker for better value for money in the summer and will make do with Bergwijn, Dele, Son, Lucas etc. Eze deal looking likely for the summer, we have very good relations with QPR after Clarke and Amos. We ended interest in Jarrod Bowen after signing Bergwijn. He was waiting for us all window but then Bergwign happened, and that’s the reason for West Ham’s/Palace late scramble for him. Yes I can be criticised as an optimist but believe we have really added to our rebuild this window with perm signing of Gio and signings of Gedson and Bergwijn. Yes Giroud (IMO) would’ve been an ideal scenario but wasn’t to be. We have also shifted a lot of unwanted players and opened up space in squad for the summer. Rose and KWP will be sold. Also am told Sissoko could move on in the summer, which is sad because he cares and has been a decent servant to the club, but ultimately he is getting on and is not good enough. Jose is brutal, thankfully. Go to sleep SC, see you in the summer x

I get what you are saying philll, but if it turns out to be shite then they haven’t filled the hole...that’s a chance they can take at this moment...one we apparently can’t .... and I’m all for that as long as we spend later when better is available... time will only tell..

He hasn’t evidenced it so far.

Just seen Lucas foundering as we try and get the ball up the pitch as quick as possible.

Tbf, you can't tell me that there is, but yet Man Utd, Inter, Chelsea, Napoli etc are all fighting it out over 30+ year old cast offs that would normally be no where near good enough.

January is always difficult. To be honest if someone deserves blame for our striker situation it’s Poch. Didn’t renew Llorente, and has never sought to adequately find back up for Kane.

True. It's on Poch that he didn't foresee his own sacking and therefore prepare for a Mourinho set up :shifty:

It's probably also on Poch that Mourinho didn't get the striker his set up requires despite us going into a transfer window knowing that we didn't have Kane for the rest of the season. :cautious:

Thats really great, thank you so much for the info, we did ok in my view. It’s a shame we didn’t hit the striker or DM, if we miss out on CL qualification next season I hope that doesn’t bring this all to a halt.

Considering that amount of people blaming it all on how we started the season with only one 'striker', it seems pretty relevant in that context.
