I'm sure we'd take Tammy Abraham and Batshuayi over him every day of the week though. If Mourinho wants to employ a true number 9 then we've got precisely no one.
Good point to them having 3 strikers to our 1. I agree us signing him is better than signing no one, but surely we can find someone better than this washed up London journeyman. (I can't imagine Chelsea selling to us anyways)

Which F’ng part of him is washed up? Don’t read into this as we done a deal! Just a question in general. I won’t get involved in exchanges ?

Would personally quite like this (more so than Piatek) but I can’t see Chelsea allowing it.

Honestly at this point I don’t even care who we get, we just need someone who can play upfront or it will be a massive let down & quite honestly a farce

In respect of your opinion Herc, he's way past his prime for me IMO. 33 years old. I think he would be a decent plan B in game option and an occasional starter to rest a fit Kane, but I am under the impression that we are aiming to sign a ST that will start for us for the rest of the season in Kane's absence. Could he do that effectively in 3 competitions when he's played 200 minutes in all comps this season? Llorente struggled to that for us at his age, but I rated him as a substitute option. But I'd like to think Mourinho has a better gauge on player than me.

At least we've got a ready made song for this fella.

"Today, is gonna be the day when we're gonna have to play Giroud"

Giroud Is a really decent player if used correctly. I have no doubts he would fit our current style but would the crowd take to him and also why did arsenal sell him in the first place and why hasn’t he got many minutes for Chelsea?

I quite rate him, could be far worse options, question is at 33 is he past it, surely there is someone else younger and more exciting we could go for but if not he’s not a terrible option.

To be fair I think Arsenal’s demise started when they sold this guy. He was their plan B to rescue matches that weren’t going their way and when he was sold they started losing / drawing home matches against far inferior opponents. As a short term Kane back up I wouldn’t be against it

Yea I agree and Think he’s a better player and ideal than piaetek who could easily fail but he’s 33 now, has he got it in him to say play 90 mins twice a week? (Probably does as for his style of play 33 is ok but he’d be a pretty short term solution, I’d rather we signed a day 25 yr old we can get behind who will be part of our present and future not just sticking around for a season or 2.

33 years old and has scored 2 league goals past 2 seasons. Doesn't fill me with confidence at all.

Maybe we see Parrott as Kane backup in 18 months or so.

Yea I remember being in away end at the goons game, we were winning and he came on and they were crossing it left right and centre and we started shittingn ourselves, sure enough he scored soon after and I think we drew or lost the game but I remember thinking he’s such a threat up there.

whether he still is or not is another question and whether Chelsea will let him go to us is also another question.
