My god the english press have it in for Jose. The amount of drivel written about Klopp being superior to Jose because of the style of play. Referring to Jose as yesterdays man compared to Klopp. Its absolutely shocking. Ok im not totally staisifed with his style in first half, however jose been here 10mins, we have 5 first teamers out and playing against a very good team. What also really grinds on me is that Liverpool are effectively the same, a counter attacking team, only they like to win ball higher up instead of defending sitting back. Give Liverpool possession and they are not as effective. Then theres Sky with 3 liverpool pundits for the game. Carragher spitting about Jose needing 5 players and Poch only needing 2. What the fuck his he talking about. Its the reason Poch went, cos we need an over haul. Neville has totally got it in for him also. I would Kevin Keegan love it if Jose can work his magic and prove all these haters wrong.
Though I am not sold on Jose and fear the worst, yeah, the narrative around this game was astounding.

Leicester, the 2nd most in form side around, went toe-to-toe with Liverpool and got eviscerated, so what chance did a misfiring, out of form, low on confidence side shorn of their talisman and with numerous players who’ve been error-prone for over a year have if we tried to do the same?

I think that's the end of our Top-4 challenge today, unfortunately

No way we're pulling back 9pts

Shame, cos we actually played pretty well today

yeah yesterday was the moment I finally thought it’s probably gone. Our fixtures are hard at home and we are shit on the road. We may even struggle to get an EL place

I’m probably going to get plenty of negative ratings for this but what the hell...

Could missing out on Europe next year be a good thing for next season? Since we have a fair amount of internationals playing in the Euros over the summer, could it work in our favor to have them only playing once a week and in the occasional domestic cup for next season?

I’d be willing to bet Kane’s injuries as well as a few others might be due to overuse. It might help...just trying to find a silver lining in this shit of a season.

I would be more confident if we had a striker to rely on to score goals, we played well today but our finishing let us down & we are going to have to rely on our finishing without Kane for the next 3 months

I'd make that 4 months and tats just before he returns to training. don't think we will see Kane before May if at all this season

Possibly.

It's great for the profile of the club though. I know the Europa isn't the CL, but it's still something and puts us on the European football map.

I would be happy to play in the Europa . We could react players in The group stages . We’d certainly be faves to win with Jose at the helm. And it would qualify us for the CL. I just hate constant Sunday games that’s all

Unless we dramatically improve, there's no way we will be favourites for the Europa. We can't fucking beat Watford.

Not denying our bad form, but we have been a little unlucky lately with the timing of certain fixtures. A recent loss to Southampton might sound bad, but they beat Chelsea on boxing day as well and also Leicester after us in the new year. Watford themselves recently beat a few of their lower-table rivals as well as Man United over Christmas. So we caught them both when they were in a run of good form. And Chelsea just went and lost to Newcastle today. So not only was the timing unfortunate, but its not a simple top six and then everyone else being in a different league anyway, not anymore. I still think top four is not off the table. We almost turned a 10 point gap around in the matter of a few games, so it can be done again. I'm not banking on us doing it, its more likely we won't. But i'm not ruling anything out just yet. Still, I would personally be content with a Europa spot given how everything has gone.

And Norwich won yesterday but Bournemouth are terrible. Fortunately they lost their best centre back for our game Wednesday, which is fortunate as we can’t score goals.

Could be the lowest total ever to get top 4. I think 64pts was previous lowest. Chelsea points per game would see them on 65pts. But I wouldn’t be surprised if 62pts did it. For me if we can get Ndombele fit and get a decent Striker it’s on. We have the easiest fixtures on paper. United have to go to Liverpool Chelsea Leicester Spurs. Chelsea have to go to Liverpool and Leicester. We’d probably have to go to the bridge and win. I don’t really think United are in it tbh I can see them prioritising Europa cup also talk Rashford is out for season. It’s remarkable we even still have a sniff but we do.

No negative rating from me. I see your point of course but I can’t agree with it.

Simply put, I enjoy watching Tottenham play games. I’d never welcome less games. Also, I spent my childhood wishing and praying for any kind of European campaign. I can’t turn my nose up at the Europa, and I think we as a club have no right too at all. We don’t win anything, and this is a fairly realistic chance of silverware.

The problem is that whilst it's mathematically possible, it's hard to see where that run could come from.

If we just get a left back defensive midfielder, creative midfielder and a striker I reckon we can get into the top 4.........easy.
