I’m certainly not ITK and the snippets I’ve shared have come through 3rd parties. That rumour is Alphabet/Google takeover with Levy staying on as chairmen and it’s been agreed in principle for a while. They were keen on Jose and Jose knew before he signed that cash was coming eventually.

if you wonder why it’s attractive. We’ve basically built one of the best entertainment stadiums in the world. Think what the o2 has become, the most successful indoor arena globally. Our ground is now a cash cow with the ability to have football and concerts working in tandem in a way other big stadiums like Wembley cannot, removable pitch was a master stoke.

Plus we own so much real estate around the ground and there is a ton of development potential still to come, think how Wembley Way has transformed and you wouldn’t be far off the vision.

NONE of this is direct ITK, just chat that has come my way from people I respect. So passing on it’s pretty interesting, even if ultimately wrong. Herc in the ITK seems to think something is in the wind so appears there is some truth in the general story.

There's some Chinese whispers going on somewhere. I heard that Big Vic was going to be sponsored by Alphabetti Spaghetti.

The thought of keeping Levy in place BUT with an unlimited transfer fund available is a pretty exciting prospect. Levy clearly loves the club but has had to be extremely careful with the money but he is generally extremely good at his job. If he gets flooded with Google cash I just hope he let's go of his old ways and flashes the money.

It’s entertainment that they’re looking at. Possibly competing with Netflix but all the concerts and nfl add to it. It’s a levy master stroke if this is true and happens amazing strategy.

This was spotted in the Head office of Google in London, earlier this year and posted online:

I genuinely don't think he could if he tried.

They wouldn't, because (despite what is often wanted on here) that's not what owners do or is possible.

Clubs spend their own money. Only difference is the creative ways it becomes their 'own money' (Etihad stuff)

Hmmm. not directly perhaps, but...

...a tech business, partially diversifies its way out of (highly rated, from a valuation perspective) tech to football, paying off large quantities of debt to free up cash for its wholly owned subsidiary to buy footballers.

because...why, exactly? So it can use the platform of football to increase brand awareness? To diversify? To generate returns?

No way. I don’t see that in a million years

Surely everybody has been around for the time ENIC have owned the club and must realise how Levy is a control freak?

He does everything. Just look at transfers. Just look at the stadium. He wants 100% control over everything. New owners won’t give him that. There’s no way he would stay on. He wouldn’t be able to deal with it. I would be astounded if he’d be part of a new takeover. Astounded.

From what I’ve been told historically, there wouldn’t be a sale, there’s no appetite for one. Investment in the club, without doubt. But a sale, no.

Of course there will be a sale that’s what ENIC do. You really think levy is just gonna pass a £1.5-2 bn profit on to the next generation. It’s just a question of when he judges is prime time. With the expansion of the CL it may not be yet.

There are many examples of american tech titans that own sports teams. Mostly american sports teams though. So, while it might sound ludacris at first it isn't. This would be an absolutely massive deal though, both from an economic perspective, but also the fact that it's...well Google. Alphabet has a host of different subsidiaries all owned by an holding company and they have been pretty vocal about looking to expand their ventures but that they would be looking in to sports teams, it's coming from the left field for many, including myself.
Move bitch, get out the way, get out the way

I'd love it if we got taken over by google.
All rival fans would feel obliged to use shitty search engines like Bing or that Ask Jeeves **** because using Google would indirectly pay us some sweet cheddar.

Please God Make this happen.

The stadium does look like a big "O" so kind of makes a lot of sense and could be used for some corny marketing collateral

If it's true that Google are interested in taking over Spurs I don't understand why people think they wouldn't want Levy there.

He's been as big a part of increasing ENiCs investment as anyone at the club. When you buy a business with a manager that is running it superbly from a profit and loss/investment perspective why the hell would you get rid of that manager. They will see Levy as part of the furniture and part of the deal
