We had ITK that it would be 1 in 1 out, so Eriksen’s departure could lead to us pursuing someone.

I wonder how long Eriksen would need to play for Tottenham for all of us (or at least most) to be able to spell his name correctly. Clearly 7 years is not nearly enough.

And finally the truth to Eriksen's departure is revealed. He just couldn't take the spelling any more.

Eriksen been nothing but professional and very unselfish through it all.

He was always clear about his career plans, and instead of signing new deals every year before refusing to play/train/make a stink to force a move he kept the same "low" wages to make sure he wouldn't make it harder for himself.

For those saying he should have signed an extension so we got more: Would you have signed a new deal at work resulting in lower wages in your next job while also reducing the chance to get the said job?

Professional? No way. He hasn't played well for about a year now. He's effected our team and performances badly too.

He should have looked at Hazard and Ramsey last season to see what a player in their final year of contract should look like.

Hazard carried Chelsea to the top 4 and Europa League. He knew he was leaving and went out on a high. Ramsey the same until he got injured and they probably would have finished above us had he not.

Eriksen has served up some absolute dog shit performances. If he'd been performing I'd be sad that he's going but now I cant wait to see the back of him.

Great performances from 2016 to 2018 where we probably saw the best of him and the players around him but he hid in the CL final, the biggest stage of them all. It's no wonder Madrid and Barca don't want him.

We all can see his performance dropped but he makes him self available and both Poch and Mou keeps picking him.

They've picked him because GLC, Lamela, Son, Alli have all been injured or suspended this season.

Picked him out of necessity rather than him deserving to be picked.

We're just doing what other teams do to us. If they want him so they can push for a title they'll pay up ... Swings and roundabouts.

Yes but don't play him in the meantime when he's been so bad. He's done nothing recently to justify selection for the bench let alone the starting 11.
By not playing him you're not forcing their hand - if we had no offer in for the player I'd agree. Conte clearly wants him, Inter can pay up then.

These are just words that we all use when we have a moan at Levy for being tighter than a parsons nose.

Desperate to leave and somehow becomes first name on the team sheet. Small club mentality. Can’t understand what Mourinho’s doing here.

“I think it's normal that until January 31st his brain is not totally in focus. It's a normal consequence of the situation.” Mourinho is even admitting himself that Eriksen is not focused. What is the point of this?

I can only think he still feels he can talk him into signing a new contract because why else would he be playing him? He is offering nothing at all to the team.

It's a ridiculous situation we have gotten ourselves into.
