Last I'll say on this, but big players would have asked to leave had Poch stayed. I know people don't like hearing it but it's true. Everything the bought into with Poch his philosophy etc changed in the final year. It would have literally been like starting from scratch.

Thanks Trix. Sounds like not only letting Poch go but bringing in a name like Jose made it easier for players to choose to stay.

It confirms what was apparent on the pitch, many of the players were performing way below their previous standards.

I’ll always think fondly of Poch who gave us some of the best football I’ve seen at Spurs (and my first game was in September 1961) but his time was up.

I find it hard to believe that Kane and Alli are amongst those seeing as they were going round his house for hours after he got sacked and were banging on about what a good friend he’s been. But I guess they could have been acting sly.

The rest I totally agree with and I would quite happily put any of them in the “don’ t forget to shut the door on your way out” category in the summer. I mean, that’s what a rebuild is, no?

If these big players were Vert, Tobi, Lloris, Lucas even Son then, again, it’s thank you very much but you can kindly fuck off. If we accept we need to do a rebuild then we should’ve fucked off anyone who was saying “I don’t want to play for a manager who’s brought us loads of success and improved us as players”

Appreciate the info but I hope you don’t take offence if I’m not taking what agents say as gospel either.

Last year it was Lo Celso plus another creative if Eriksen was to leave although that may have changed now Jose is in charge.

We are still in talks to get BF allegedly. Couple that with Lo Celso (if we decide to keep him) and TN then the creativity should be taken care of once Eriksen bounces.

Let's not forget we also have Lamela here. Get all of these together, fit and firing then our creative options are many. Get the right DM to knit it all together then we could be in a very good place going forward.

Which is fair agent talk is not the most reliable at times. When it's the agent of one of the players in question I would say it holds a lot more credence though, which is why I'm sure it was the case.

Unless you are new to supporting Spurs( if that is the case then i suggest a good therapist is in order in a few months time) you know how Levy works and has worked transfer wise for many many years.

It appears Jose has identified targets that are deemed too expensive at present so there is a list of alternatives he is happy with. This is how it has always been and will always be so I can no longer get worked up about the situation as it will not change a thing.

Our needs on the field are clear for all to see and if we were to go out tomorrow and purchase Koulibaily,Bruno Fernandes,Max Aaron’s and perhaps Soumare and a CF ( couldn’t bring myself to say OG) as a start it would have a clear and direct impact on the club and how we would send a message to the club fans, staff and the rest of the world.

But that’s the best part of 200 million and we don’t work that way. I can sit here and hope that one day we will as the rest is in place now to become a truly huge club. However it’s false hope as Levy never has nor will operate that way so I have to sit back and try and enjoy the alternative transfers all the while deep down wondering what could be.

You can like and respect someone yet still feel they are bad for your career. Wanting to leave because you don’t think you can progress is different to acting sly.

Maybe sly is the wrong word but if you have respect for someone who’s done a lot for your career it seems at odds to me to then go behind that persons back, go to their boss, demand they leave otherwise you will then when you got your way to go public with statements saying what a good friend and person he is.

Let’s be honest, if it’s Kane we’re talking about then he’ll be gone at the end of next season anyway as he’s not going to suffer 2 seasons out of the CL.

Anyway, even though this is ITK related I’ll stop there in case I get a ban stick up my arse.

some stuff from dragon1, some itk some opinion probably
I did not know about Fernandez until yest , but it’s def happening (gedson)
we’re in talks with another Portuguese international I can’t say too much but much more experienced than Fernandez and I’m not referring to bf (not silva at milan, not moutinho, not renato sanches)
think Jose is going to totally rebuild us
we are in for eze and he is likely to join
I would say loris , Toby , son , Kane and Alli are immortal and sess and tanganga will be part of the new dawn , everyone else is on trial between now and may
Kwp , Ccv and foyth all will leave on loan or be sold this window as not in squads everyone else needs to perform , it will be one in one out starting with Eriksen out and gelson in this week , this may well take three to four windows , we will take a lot of Mendez players but he will not drive our transfer policy

Looks like we may not be sorted until the '21-'22 season. But I'm okay with that as long as we show progress along the way and do steadily build. It was two seasons under Poch until we were really flying. His second season we did well, admittedly, but that was the freak Leicester season where most everyone was rubbish, so we weren't really ready for it. 4 windows is just 18 months or so from now so not too shabby really.

In regards to the Portuguese player, maybe Ruben Dias. Happy to hear this news, unfortunately we have heard it for awhile and I think it’s going to take some sacrifice from Levy as he won’t get what he wants for every player we need to sell. It’s going to be difficult enough to find suitors for some of them already.
