We’ve made enquires around Max Aaron’s on multiple occasions. Only Man City and Utd made firm offers for him in the summer which he rejected. His heart is set on Chelsea but that doesn’t mean he can’t end up elsewhere.

Why would his heart be set on Chelsea and the mega wages they offer...:cry:

If his heart is set on Chelsea just move on. You'd have thought having a player committed to coming in and playing for you, would rank highly among the sorts of things you'd want as a club, when signing a player.

Sounds like a waste of time.

(Cleared with A&C) some ITK on Jarrod Bowen: Spurs want him, he desperately wants spurs. £15 million is the figure spurs want to pay but Hull want more and spurs unwilling to increase offer significantly with other more pressing issues in the squad. One to watch.
Presumably this also tells us we are looking to deal with those other pressing issues in this window otherwise we'd prioritise him now.

He’s a Chelsea supporter and it’s his dream to play for them. Can’t knock him for that.

Fine. Same with Maddison. Shouldn’t be chasing a player if heart is elsewhere. Move on

thanks for the info as always.

Bowen, Eze and Ferguson would be good signings and would return us to what we used to do which was pick up the undoubted young talent in the lower leagues. I can imagine Aarons would cost an awful lot of money. One thing is for certain is that we need reinforcements.

What's concerning me most is that so far the majority of ITK is about young players. I always want us to sign young players but surely this squad would benefit more from some experience to help us improve defensively. At the moment we are truly woeful at the back but not, IMO, because of our back line and rather because of our central midfield.

Dier is the only legitimate CDM we have and he can't be relied upon to play every game. If we don't address that position this month then we'll be lucky to finish in the top 6, let alone top 4. Ndombele can't stay fit, Lo Celso is still adapting. Sissoko and Winks aren't CDM's and Wanyama is crocked.

I'd personally like us to go after an experienced, athletic CDM way before we go splashing big money (unlikely) on the likes of Koulibaly.

Can’t see Chelsea being after a RB anytime soon

can definitely knock him for that

Anyone who ends up a Chelsea supporter by choice should have serious questions around temperament in any case

Seems like the penny has finally dropped with the fanbase in respect of Moura's inconsistency, so getting Bowen in for a decent price with 6 months left sounds like a very interesting option. Ditto with Ferguson (lets be honest anything would be an upgrade on Aurier). Hopefully this leaves funds for a top quality DM and a possibly even a CB like Koulibaly.

Some of the links with young players could be to do with protecting the number of Home Grown players that we'd have in the squad, especially if we're trying to move on Rose and KWP.

A&C won't appreciate us talking about HG players in here though so it's probably worth taking that conversation to this thread:

Thank you for passing on the information. It seems as though the rumours of doing very little business seems to being changed although I suppose at this time o thr eywqt there will be lots of information leaked by the media and agents

Yup, a very aggressive front foot defender. Ruben Dias is similar in that respect. Strong, physical, mobile type of defenders who'll look to win the ball further up. Both pretty decent on the ball to.

Koulibaly is far from decent on the ball. Amazing defender, but he's much more Des Walker than Rio Ferdinand

I'd take Des Walker now!
In all seriousness, Walker was one of the best defenders of my lifetime so I wouldn't dread that, although, I agree we need decent players on the ball the way we play out from the back.

Disagree so much, he's fantastic ball-playing defender. This season he has more passed per game with higher passing accuracy, he's making more key passes per game than Toby, Jan and Davinson. Very decent dribbling as well.
