Amazing news! This is another reason why it was so vital to bring in a new manager and freshen things up. If we'd kept Poch, Toby would've 100% left at the end of the season and we'd have been looking at shelling out £40 million for a new CB.

I assume that has to be Jan. Surely there's no way in hell Eriksen or Rose would sign.
Even if Jan just signed a 1 year extension that would be huge, though.

I hope it’s Gazza or Troy. Jan is getting weaker phisycally, and he’s 33. It would be stupid to stop Davinson/Foyth or Sess as LB
Disagree, I think Jan has earned at least another year from us (would probably have to be a 2 year deal), just having him around provides stability and the younger players will continue to learn form him. I think even he would realise, that if he signs a new contract, his appearances will get fewer over time.

Not so much Poch himself but more how stale things had become. Jose appointment has freshened everything up as hoped/expected.

I think Dier is out of contract soon and from the moment Mourinho was appointed I thought Toby and Dier would sign new contracts... But maybe Jose has changed his mind after seeing 2019 Dier ?
Buzzing Toby has signed a new contract - would have cost an absolute fortune to sign someone as good as him.
For me, he spent 7 years here and he's legend so if we win something this season would be fantastic to end of the cycle. And I think it nearly impossible to convince him to sign probably his last contract and agreeing less wage / game time
