Lamela is a funny one. I love the guy and his attitude, but his injuries always stop him getting real momentum.. Lo Celso can do what Lamela does for us, so with that in mind, I wouldn’t be adverse to selling him and putting that money towards another quick winger, Zaha or the like.

I’m sure Saturday was all about just getting a win and to do that he picked players he know are reliable (ish). He’s not had a great deal Of time with them Training wise so I’m sure we will see different players as weeks go on

Bit worried about Gio now. Zero minutes so far and I don't see how he fits into Mourinho's formation. I doubt Jose will pick him as deep as Winks, and he doesn't really have the pace to play the role that Moura's filling. It could be a huge missed opportunity if we don't find a place for him in the team.

I think Gio will play Saturday, as Mourinho hinted in his post-match interview he should've rotated tonight.

Reckon Gio, Vertonghen and Ndombele in.

As previous posters have pointed out, Mourinho has only probably had maximum 5 days training with the squad? Gio will get there.

Yep I think we're suffering from wanting instant gratification, I'm desperate for Lo Celso to get in but we have to look at the likes of Son who took a while to find his feet and struggled for starts initially. Fingers crossed.

Bit worrying when you're a replacement for someone who isn't a starter... makes you 3rd choice.
Everyone chill! We're only 2 games in under Jose who wanted to have some continuity with his starting 11 for those 2 games. There will be some rotation coming over the next games. And Lo Celso has had a few injuries so would be eased back into getting some minutes. The coaching staff aren't mugs, as long as Lo Celso is working hard in training and showing what he can do, he won't be ignored

Jose been currently been playing 4-2-3-1 or 3-2-5 . In both there is no place for LoCelso. IMO he could play ahead of Winks.

Jose favourite formation though is 4-3-3. In that LoCelso will be a perfect fit too in right side of central trio.

He can also play in Dele position. IMO, he will get his chance & will take it.

Lo Celso would fit perfectly in Lucas' position right now. Lucas is staying out wide, he's playing as an inside right, and Lo Celso would be great there. Last night he could do exactly what Eriksen did if we want a more progressive CM2.

He's not really perfect for the Lucas/Son positions. Those roles are setup for players with a lick of pace, which is not really GLC's strength... Jose loves pacey wide forwards.

He could do what Eriksen did though, in theory. And he could slot into Dele's role. Whether he can do either job as effectively is yet to be seen, and we won't know until he a run of games in any position.

From what I am hearing, Jose really likes him. But he wants everybody to understand his style of play etc. And he cannot take too many risks at present. I am very confident he will get his minutes. When he does, he has to make the most of it.

Just going with the players he knows the most about imo. Jose has been here less than a week hardly enough time to formulate any sort of opinion one way or another. He'll get his chances no doubt.

Encouraging, cheers. I wonder in what position. Maybe where Lucas is playing?
