The funny and best thing is....All of this truly shows how far we as a club compared to them have come. Mourinho wanted us, I know there were reports that he was talking to them etc I don’t believe that he ever seriously considered them. Look at their squad ffs. Now they might want Poch. No way, besides the spurs connection that team is not something he can work with. Allegri? You’re having a laugh, if he wasn’t in contention for us then there is no way he’d go there. I don’t think we wanted Allegri either, Daniel had his choice and he got him, that guy can’t build a defence out of what they got. They are going to Eddie Howe etc someone with a project. That’s where we were whilst they were cock of the walk. No more. We are the bigger club now. Long may it continue. They know it too.

Time is an interesting discussion point in football. Many fans seem to believe just giving someone time will result in improvement. But if the wrong manager is in charge or the setup is wrong then more time can be massively detrimental.

Like Utd and to a lesser extent ourselves, Arsenal believe themselves to be a big club and any new manager is under huge new pressure.

Emery is coming up to a season and a half at the club. I don't see any identity forming or any real improvement. If they continue with Emery then I think they are going down the wrong path.

But their board are unambitious and don't seem to really care. So any real change is unlikely.

Arsenal will only really change if they strike gold with a manager choice or one of their players becomes Henry level. I don't see that happening.

Their fans don’t have the patience though. They’ve thousands of them brought up with only wenger as manager. He was successful. Unless the next guy was immediately successful there was going to be this toys out of the pram attitude fuelled by AFTV. Emery was never going to be able to do that with their current squad. No chance.

They need a complete rebuild like we did. New progressive manager, ship out the ego’s and have a core of young hungry players. They have some talent coming through, problem is it’s so toxic there they will just keep regressing until they do that. Eddie Howe would do well there I think. They just have to accept they aren’t an elite club anymore.

I think Howe would be perfect for them actually. They’re well set up for him and a bit like Bournemouth. Good in attack but not great in other positions. Saying that, no top 4 next season and I don’t think lacazette and abaumayang will be there, so would he want the job?

Apparently Chips Keswick is considering resigning now cause Raul has too much influence. Keswick wants to make a change but Emery is Raul's man and he won't sack him. Sounds like they're getting a few too many of their mates in and that could cause huge issues. I think its why Sven Mislintat left, he was being drowned out by all the Spanish speakers.

From my Arsenal mate this morning

" Honestly I’d have Dick Emery in charge at this stage and he’s been dead for over 30 years"

Southampton had 21 shots against Arsenal, only 6 on goal. That's the reason Arsenal didn't lose.

I'd be surprised if they lost/sold both in 1 window but can see 1 leaving end of the season of things don't change

I honestly don’t understand how any person can stand to listen to that man speak for more than a minute...... and I include members of his own family.

I dunno, I find it funny. I don’t mind a bit of blud, bruv, fam now and then. Obviously he goes a bit overboard with it but, like I say, it’s funny when he goes off on one. It’s just street slang at the end of the day I don’t really find it offensive or nothing (not saying you do either)

Its just personal preference I guess. For a small island we have a variety of different accents and ways of speaking. Go down the West Country and listen to the pirates speak, some people would say the same about them.

Love the way he says he left his kid at home on his 9th birthday as some kind of altruistic act of kindness to spare him having to watch Arsenal, but then, the man has a point.

If Arsenal’s midfield protected their defence as well as he now protects his baseball cap they’d be a lot better off.

True, and I agree it’s still funny, although it’s as much about the constant “you understand, yeah” as much as the blud, fam stuff. As if he’s on a higher plane of awareness.

I have a guy like that at work from another department. Hasn’t a fucking clue what he’s doing, but talks to you like you are the one who doesn’t get it. Obviously he doesn’t call me blud, that would be funny.

Plus his contract is up at the end of the season anyway, so those might be the reasons he makes it through until the end of May

Tbh, their league position isn't that bad if they're aiming for a 6th or 5th placed finish...which is realistic all things considered

Well, they NEED to be aiming for 4th. They need to get that CL revenue to get back on track. If they keep playing in the EL they will keep sinking lower and lower.
