Diet's set piece taking is so underrated. He is going to be key under Jose if he can get his rythm going again.

The way I see it with Eriksen, he is in a battle with Dele/Lo Celso/Moura/Lamela in terms of playing time.

He can play the advanced midfielder in a 3, a '10' if we play with one or the other player to Kane and Son in a front 3.

I dont think Jose will be putting his eggs into Christian's basket just yet. I think Jose will view Dele as a must start and then GLC and Moura can fight over the other spot, unless Christian commits I think his game time will be limited.

Here's an odd coincidence I just noticed.

Villas Boas sacked December 2013. Our next match: West Ham in the League Cup.
Pochettino arrived May 2014. Our next match: West Ham in the League.
Pochettino sacked November 2019. Our next match: West Ham in the League.
I too was aware of that from personal experience because my partner is a West Ham fan, and she accompanied me to White Hart Lane and sat next to me and she was probably only West Ham fan in the Paxton Rd end, and she had to sit on her hands and pretend not to be gleeful when they equalised and then banged in the winner in Sherwood's first game after being 1-0 down

I then accompanied her to Upton Park in 2004 for Poch's first game, and was probably the only Spurs fan in their Bobby Moore home end, and I had to pretend to be gutted when Mark Noble missed that penalty after Kyle Naughton was harshly sent off, and I had to pretend to be even more upset when James Collins got sent off and Eric Diet scored the winner in injury time, they were absolutely livid. Seeing my fellow Spurs fans jumping up and down and singing was a surreal experience and I had a hard time surpressing my emotions I can say.

Guess where I will be tomorrow ? In with their home fans again, with my partner, ironically in the Trevor Brooking stand right next to the Spurs fans. I strongly suspect that with our new incumbent in post for his first game they will be even more hostile towards us than they usually are. By rights and a process of elimination it should end in a draw if the sequence is correct. I'm my view though, she owes me a couple because her last two visits since 2004 with me to see Spurs v West Ham, have seen them win 3-2 after going 2-0 down at Wembley, and she was in the South stand just behind the goal with me, when Antonio scored the winner up the other end, and Vincent Jannsen narrowly missed getting an equaliser right in front of us at the end, and that consigned us to our first home defeat at the new stadium.

One things for sure, it's going to be a vibrant atmosphere tomorrow, as for the result, who knows ?

Another positive read, this time from Eni Aluko in the Guardian. I believe she used to play for Chelsea. She is picking up the theme of us moving from semi finals and second place to winners. Also.....becoming nasty bastards that no one likes isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

The difference a year off has made is there too see. The Man Utd unveiling compared to ours is like night and day.
I’m optimistic I think getting Campos in as DOF is vital though keep levy out of negotiations and we’re golden

"I don't need new players"....oh yes you do Jose, just wait and see!
He knows that. But the best thing to do now is tell these players they are good enough to win.

After all the mixed messages and confusion they've been used to over the last year they need a clean slate and some one telling them only the present matters.

He probably has ideas of who exactly he wants and where we need to upgrade.

Yeah just watching the Utd press conference now, very negative and defensive. Set the tone for his time there

Listen mate, no one respects Poch more than I do. Go back to his thread and see I was Poch in all the way. I didn't sleep the night he was sacked and cried my eyes out when I saw the photo of him writing his goodbye message. This was a joke. As are you for replying in this manner.

Sorry that you took offence to my opinion. As I said in my reply, I’m quite sure it was an attempt at humour but I just didn’t feel we should be making such statements, even as a joke when this man has done so much for our club.
It’s an Internet forum and you have to expect members to reply to your posts, both to agree and disagree. I’m not here to belittle anyone or insult anyone (not saying this applies to you) but you got to accept members will respond to your opinion with theirs ?

I agree. But you suggested a lack of respect on my part, which is what I reacted to. If you're saying that in your opinion we ought not to joke about such things as that, then I respect your opinion and your right to disagree. But I will not accept being labelled as disrespectful to Poch, when all I've done is defend him over the past 3 months.

It wasn’t meant to be a dig at you mate, I don’t question any members passion or loyalty especially those that paid good money to travel to games and get shit back from the games.

I hope so, his displays have been generally pathetic so I hope that he really does have to do something special to get game time. I hope this is a bit of a smack in the face for him - to have one of the most successful managers ever become your manager and then not pick you because he has watched you be shite for months is nothing short of what he deserves
