Enjoyed his first interview.

Actually it's a bit mental hearing Jose fucking Mourinho talk about being Spurs manager.

And then saying stuff like how we are too humble about stuff. He's not bullshitting either, he's always spoken well about us. Let's be honest since Levy tried to get him in 2007 Jose has known that if we get big enough for him, he'd love to come here.

Not going to lie got a little bit of a spine tingle watching that and hearing his voice talking about us.

It's either genuine excitement or my motor neurone disease is kicking up a notch. Either way exciting times ahead.

I’m with you. I know he’s going to break me heart but I can’t help but like it. I clearly like my managers like I like my women

OK, I know its all just PR, say the right things blah blah, but that Mourinho video is a shot of adrenaline to the heart right?

Nice to have an articulate, charismatic manager again. I loved Poch for what he did for the club, but I never paid the slightest attention to anything he said.

Mourinho is captivating. Love him or loathe him.

Haha, funniest thing I've ever heard. Not a chance in hell. Unless he's given 500 million to spend, even then he wouldn't win it. Face facts: his best days as a manager are long gone.
"Face facts"...followed by a daft statement!
I get that you don't like Jose but to say he's washed up at what, 56?, is just silly.

Genuine question here - not meaning to come across as condescending.

You have stated that you're a huge football fan. Would you be happy to watch other teams to get your 'Cruyff/Spanish/Dutch style' fix and watch Spurs win trophies playing football not quite to your taste? In this hypothetical scenario you get the best of both worlds.

Or will you only truly be happy if Spurs play the kind of football that you want, irrespective of winning trophies in the process?

I don't watch as much football as I used to, but I already watch plenty of other teams if I find something interesting about them - tactics etc or trying to do something different. Some teams will play the sort of football I personally like, some are the complete opposite, but if I find something to interest me or appreciate in a team I'll watch it.

I've said before under Poch/any manager that if we managed to win the league then there would still be a fuckload of things I disagreed with and wouldn't have done myself and see as weaknesses we must improve on, and would say it. It's a discussion forum after all and I like discussing football and bouncing ideas and opinions about. So I guess no, I wouldn't be truly happy. If Spurs win something I will be pleased, but if it's not done in a way that is to my tastes and so it hasn't really drawn me in totally and got me invested along the way then I suppose there will be quite an edge taken off it.

Just watching the Coaches Voice interview on YouTube with him talking about his career. The very interesting part is the Inter job. A lot of parallels. He talks about using a high press too, older central defenders etc Colour me excited now.

I mean does everyone realise we've got the biggest fucking manager on the planet in charge of our team now?

This guy is widely regarded as possibly one of the greatest managers of all time. It's Jose fucking Mourinho and he's come to Spurs and he's saying "we", "us" and "my club".

There is no single manager who is more likely to win us a trophy. And that is aaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllll I care about now. I don't care if it goes to pot in three years, if he wins us a couple of pots in that time.

What a shame we are already out of the league cup. You can bet your arse if we were still in it he'd have targeted the fuck out of that cup as he always does, to instil that winning mentality we've lacked for so long.

Hopefully he makes a major, major push for the FA Cup and CL.

Bit giddy. He's got so much class. Speaks proper English and does it clearly. No more riddles, and no more sulking, at least for a while.

Mourinho is infuriating and arrogant and he's exactly what we need. As long as I've suppported Tottenham we've been a nice club with a weak mentality. Poch was clearly a good guy, and did a great job in helping us to become a major force but ultimately could never push us over the line. Now we have the ultimate winner. None of us know whether it will work out but Levy has shown huge ambition in getting a Manager to match our world class stadium/facilities. I cant wait to see what happens.

I can understand people being positive about José.

But to say he has class? Not for me Jeff. One of the most classless people in the game at times.

Clean slate and all that, but if he behaves like he did at some of his previous clubs I won't be defending him just because he's doing it on our behalf now.

It's funny how salty Chelsea fans have gone. There are now fake quotes going round on Twitter that they're lapping up.

This is the key to it all, if levy hires this world class DOF that Jose wants then we could have a serious combination! This is always my one criticism of levy that he hasn’t got the football structure correct like Man City sns liverpool do and if he gets Luis Campos I’m alongside Jose we could be in for something very special. ???levy

I think we did in the first few years but his voice got tiresome towards the end.

I know a lot of it might be for the camera, but I love those training videos.

Mourinho just walks around with such a big manager swagger.

Exactly, delusional!!
Is it really delusional to think that one of the greatest ever managers with major trophies to his name, plus a very good squad (3rd best in league) with some big players who could be even better with some additions, playing in the best stadium in the country could be title challengers?

If anyone had said to you Poch would almost win the title with us people would have thought you were mad, yet we did. And that appointment was far less ambitious than this one.

As i said before this manager hiring is crucial, if it wasn’t someone like Jose Kane would be out there door and the whole thing collapses, they’re going to fucking listen to a guy who’s won 25 trophies aren’t they, he commands respect.

forget comparing to poch etc simple fact is the players will be motivated as fuck as none of them will have had a manager of his quality before, none.

Exactly, we couldn’t attract Jose the last few times we tried we didn’t have the stature the quality of squad funds reputation stadium any of it now we have it all. We’re now a HUGE club and this is the appointment I’ve been wanting for 15 years.
Let’s enjoy the ride.

Goosebumps from his first interview and the training video.

They're also going to be slightly intimidated by him, which is exactly how it should be!
