When Mourinho went to United it just didn't feel like a good fit. Whether it was just timing, whether it was because United probably needed someone to clear decks but it just felt like "we're a big club, we'll get the best available". It also felt like they did it cause City were getting Pep and Klopp was at Pool.

Basically not much strategy was put into it and Mourinho literally went from being fired by Chelsea in December to courting the United iob. There was no refresh button. He wanted the United job because it was United but hadn't seemed to take his life or strategy with him.

It feels much different with us. The timing seems to have been more fateful and you can see the club are trying to give him every chance of success by getting ppl in around him. It also seems like Mourinho has been waiting for us and really taking the time to understand what he wants to bring to the game and what job suits that.

With Pep' s influence potentially waning at City (he typically lasts 3 years but always gets out before the come down) and Liverpool probably not being able to maintain their form longer than beyond next season, I fully expect us to be challenging for the title next season.

Haha, funniest thing I've ever heard. Not a chance in hell. Unless he's given 500 million to spend, even then he wouldn't win it. Face facts: his best days as a manager are long gone.

And

Two things I noticed. 1. Players are all stretching in a group and the one player he goes and steaks to is Tanganga. 2. The rondos already look a lot more intense and quicker than in previous training videos.

Don’t know if you watched the full vid but he talks to tanganga a fair bit

Dont think I'm kissing butt as I personally can't stand Maureen and think this is gonna be a bloody circus but I do think the players will really believe they can now win something. Belief goes a long way.
Even though the football will more than likely be awful defence based shite.

And also the bit with Dele where they have a smile, a joke, a laugh and a hug at the end. He’s got big plans for him I feel.

At 4:11 is that Sissoko missing a sitter? Nice to know he stays true to form ?

You can tell he already loves Dele, Kane and Dier. If Dier can stay fit and get back to his best Mourinho has huge plans for him as the DM in my opinion.

The reaction from some of you shows how much of a weak mentality you have and how much this has plagued our fans for years. We have just appointed a serial winner who's has won more trophies since he started managing than our entire club history, whatever way you want to look at it this is a momentous day yet some of you are too busy hoping that he fails.

Do you want to win a fucking trophy or not?
Do you want our club to be taken seriously or not?
Do you want to keep the likes of Kane or not?

Ask yourself this question as to why we are continually the bridesmaids and we'd never win anything...it's because the entire culture and mentality of this club is based around being 'Spursy' something that our fans are all too happy to embrace.

Change your mentality, we're a huge club starved of success it's only right that we have the best in charge to oversee the change in fortunes at this club.
Maybe some people are happy watching a enjoyable team who win most of their games but don't necessarily care if their team win trophies. (Me).

The reason we don't win trophies is not the weak mentality of the fans. Do we play 90 minutes a week? It's the financial doping of the premier League so called top teams (hello Chelsea and Manchester city) and there being bigger clubs with more money than us and deeper squads.

How many trophies have been won by anyone outside the traditional big teams and the billionaire playthings? Not many, Leicester? I wouldn't say we, the fans, had a weaker mentality than their fans.

I'm not a fan of JM because he's a personification of what's wrong with modern football. Overally self important, reliant on money for success, anti football, winning more important than anything and just a obnoxious bellend.

Obviously I will love if we start winning things, but I would enjoy it a whole lot more if we do it with some panache, as in the end football is just entertainment. 1 nil grinds will make success kinda hollow. Plus this is not the mourinho of Porto or Chelsea, this is a manager who was said to be out of touch with modern tactics. So no guarantee of success, just a guarantee of shit football.

Interesting in that 7 minute training clip on the spurs app. He definitely spoke and hugged Dele. If he can just get him back to what he was...

Difference is, DL has no choice. Because Mourinho will let it be known, and possibly walk. And sure he would have that all in his contract. I said few weeks ago, he is so meticulous. He gives a full and comprehensive dossier to the board, that gives road map, with wages etc. So all club need to do is ratify it.

He did the whole compiling a thorough dossier thing with the Utd board to. With the way it usually ends with Mourinho, sure Levy has accounted for the fact there is a good chance it could happen here to. Mourinho only likely to walk if a bigger club come in for him who give him the money to challenge for the league/CL , otherwise probably would wait to be pushed and collect his compensation (what that would be or whether there are any certain stipulations tied in, who knows) imo. Really don't think Levy see's it as a big deal replacing managers.
