Can’t believe how much we are paying him if £15m a year is true that’s insane but you get what you pay for usually.

This could also be his last shot at a top club in England (at least) so he will have taken that into consideration as well before accepting any offers.
100%. He’s been waiting in the wings for 2.5 years for the right ‘profile’ of club and opportunity. Unlikely due to city and lpool but if they had poor seasons and we somehow won the league that would be his legacy nailed forever as a truely great manger one of the best ever. If he even won us the FA Cup first in 30 years that’d be some achievement to be fair.

he’ll be more motivated than ever as if he fucks this up then it could be his last big top job. The timing is great in my opinion for both sides.

Don't want to see anyone else say that ENIC don't have any ambition

In the last year or so they've smashed our wage budget, smashed our transfer record twice, paying out the 2nd highest salary in the Prem for a manager who has a history of winning trophies.

They want to win.

Mourinho is not my first choice, but this may be a tailor made situation for him. Massive resume, slightly tarnished image, out of work for a while and raring to go. New stadium, great training ground and a club with a great history but a "nearly club" at the moment.

Most of all, players with outstanding talent who lost belief in their leader. When Jose wants to be charming, he can turn it on with the best of them and if does that then the impact will probably be pretty close to immediate. (that is one reason the individual interviews he is doing will be critical). He is as tactically astute as they come. Given that he has been considering this position for some time, he already has a good idea of the tactical approach of what he wants and where he wants changes to be made. The players will need time to learn their new roles but if the ITKers are right, many of them will embrace the change.

My first hope is that he embraces our tradition and develops a successful, attacking style which would make Billy Nick proud. My second hope is that he learned his lesson and realizes he could cement a legacy by leading Spurs to the promised land not for three years but for a decade ridding himself of that toxic reputation. I have zero fear for the next 2 years. We'll be good. Very good. Even if we lose a few key players out of loyalty to Poch, we'll be good. And my final hope is that the uncertainty associated with Jose in his third year, never comes to pass.

Maybe he's a changed man, will be a calming influence around the club, be charming at every presser and interview, work to a tight budget and promote youth.

Then again maybe not

I've had reservations about Jose ever since it became a real possibility that Poch would go, but I think he's the right man for this moment in the club's history.

We've got squad full of brilliant players -- a flawed squad to be sure, but one with genuine world class players at multiple positions. We've seen what this group is capable of, but ever since the catastrophic 2018 summer window there's been a pall hanging over the club which we've never been able to fully shake off. Jose will shock the players out of their complacency, swiftly deal with the malcontents, get the team organized and well-drilled in a way it has not been for some time, and instill a winning mentality in a group of players who have lacked that severely.

There are certainly reasons to be concerned over what this will mean in the long term, especially given that his traditional preferences in the transfer market are completely and utterly at odds with Levy's, but if he is given full backing in January I see no reason he can't turn this group of players into winners. He's done it everywhere he's ever been.

Did you just say 'If he’s given full backing in January'?

You had me until that bit!!!!!

Some big names may well find themselves left behind if they don't perform every game. He does not muck about. Perform or you are out.
