It's a shame Enrique has returned to the Spain job he would have been my first choice. But for now Ancelotti would do for me

I think it’s gonna be Jose. It’s absolutely ludicrous to wait till the end of the international break to pull the trigger, unless the club have someone they know can come in instantly. With Poch’s team also gone, that leaves the coaching staff pretty thin with West Ham so close on the horizon and no doubt keen to twist the knife. I think there’s no way Levy has done this without having something already agreed.

As for Jose, I’m still not sold on him being the right option. I think he may be now outdated, more progressive managers like Klopp and Pep have overtaken him stylistically. However, if there’s one manager with absolute self belief and ego to prove he is not a spent force, then it’s Mourinho.

Secondly, if Mourinho does come in, there’s no way that hasn’t happened without him and Levy discussing their respective demands. What does Levy expect from the team in terms of league/cup performances, and equally what does Jose expect from Levy in terms of support, eg signings.

I thought Poch was the one to take us to success, and went closer than anyone else during my time supporting Spurs. He gave us dynamism and toughness to be proud of, but all good things come to an end. However, the one thing I never understood was how/why he stood by and either chose or else hits accepted substandard signings, knowing that the poor quality would hamper his efforts to be successful.

Enough of this “I’m giving up on the club if we appoint Mourinho” cack.

Jose Mourinho is one of the greatest managers the sport itself has ever seen. The fact he’s being seriously linked with our club is almost too mad to comprehend.

He doesn’t go round winning things everywhere he goes by accident.

We should be welcoming him with open arms, regardless of whether you “like” him. You don’t have to take the fucker for a drink.

Have a feeling it could be Ancelotti, although if it is a quick announcement it does suggest someone currently out of work and obviously Mourinho fits that.
This is it, even if it was Ancelotti he's still in a job, so we'd have announced an interim just for a match or 2.
Its done and dusted I think, just leaving the announcement until tomorrow.

Watch us play out of our skins vs West Ham now that poch has gone.
Will prove how the players have thrown Pochettino under the bus.
Will be bitter sweet if that is what happens on Saturday for me

If that happens it will be no different to what happens at other clubs when the same situation arises. I agree it’s a bit galling, but it’s human nature and certainly par for the course in football.

Everyone who said those who wanted Poch out weren’t proper Tottenham fans for not being fully being the manager but simultaneously say they’ll give up football if Mourinho comes is a hypocrite

Mourinho - I’m sure someone posted on here a month or so ago that JM had found a new enthusiasm for the game, taken his time off to refresh his tactics, approach etc and rebuilt his coaching team. If this is the case and he’s our new manager then 1) we need to back him, and 2) be optimistic about the future based on his new game plan.

This story

I’d prefer a progressive coach like Rose or Nagelsman who’ve done their time at a relative lower ranked club and done well, now transferring that to a higher level club. However, it may be too soon for them given both are less than halfway through their first season in their new job.
From the available guys with track records of success, I think Allegri is more current, but I just don’t see it being him. It just looks like Jose is in pole position, but I’d love to see him come in and prove to the world he can still deliver with the other big guns, and do it without the budget he’s had previously, just to prove he can.
If it is Mourinho, then a new back room team could be the refresh he needs.

Standard load of Millennial attention seeking bollox.

Support the fucking club.

Nobody gives a shit if you give up on football if Jose is named, literally, nobody.

You clearly aren’t Tottenham fans if you say shit like that. We supported George Graham for fuck sake

Between JJ and Gards it's really looking like it will be Mou. I imagine Levy & co will be all for it: finally Spurs can attract a manager like Jose Mourinho to the club - a man we were gagging for a decade ago but could barely dream of signing. A genuine superstar manager with a track record of winning who will put the eyes of the world on our club.

But then again he's miserable, negative and burns teams to the ground within 3 years...

Either way, despite being really against him in theory, now that it's looking quite likely I'm bloody excited. If we get him it's gonna be a wild ride whatever happens.

I think the one thing we have in our favour is we're a true underdog, just like his Inter, Porto and Chelsea teams were. It was at Utd and Madrid, where the clubs were bigger than him, that things really went sour and he got bitter. Hopefully being at a club like Spurs would bring out some of the backs against the wall spirit of young Jose and he won't feel persecuted the entire time.

I lost my admiration of JM after watching how boring ManU were. He’s been sacked after so many short spells. Not the right fit for us.
Maybe Benitez could work with Levy’s parameters. Or Rodgers has impressed with his stints at pool, celtic and leicester. Both would suit us more than JM.

How would we feel with Poch at ManU or arse?

More than that, the club is bigger than any manager anyway. If Newcastle fans can back their club with years of Ashley and some very dodgy managerial appointments then it's not much to expect Spurs fans to back whoever is in charge.
